I know!!! Plus, I am in Canada, as you can see (derp on my part lol). A local computer shop, extreme-pc (actually, one bad-ass shop that ships all over Canada and US some pretty insane custom builds) is selling the MSI rendition of the FE for 600CAD, so roughly $460USD? Anyway, I'll get one eventually. My 7970 chugs along (albeit not so happily anymore).
-
Sure I would be okay with FE. OOS on geforce.com 1070s temperatures are ridiculously low so a blower cooler is fine by me!
-
I do apologise. Perhaps I am feeling a little touchy today because everyone keeps depleting 1070 stock. My bad.
-
You definitely don't "need" a new PSU but if you are not comfortable with only having 50-100 Watts headroom then grab any 850. Any PSU on the market today from Tier 1 or Tier 2 will serve you well! http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
-
No. 750 Watts is fine. Also, 80+ certification doesn't have anything to do with the PSU's reliability or ability to deliver said TDP requirements. All it means is that lower certified PSUs draw more power from your house's power mains than it is able to deliver, thus dissipating the said extra power (wattage) as heat.

Not correct in any way, shape or form, and not based on any actual research and benchmarks therefore completely devoid of any merit as it is entirely made up information pulled from what you personally (and wrongly) think is correct.

Any video card today, whether it be a Nano, Fury, Fury X, 1070, 1080, 980 Ti, 7970, R9 280x, doesn't matter... Two of them overclocked to the absolute maximum require absolutely no more than 600 Watts of power (and add to that the rest of the system that also needs power). And that's playing it safe. So I would say based on actual sources like Guru3d, that a 750 Watt PSU is very, very safe for a 2-Way SLI or CrossFire setup. Only with 3-Way Titan Zs do we see the power spike above 700 Watts to almost 750 Watts. Where's my source do you say? Here you go: http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/geforce-gtx-970-sli-review,4.html

I hope so because 970 on launch was at or below MSRP (in some instances). FE 1070 gave AIB partners the thought that they all of a sudden have the right to charge above MSRP since FE pricing was that high too. So I hope you are right. Because this 980 Ti deal will most likely not be seen this cheap again
-
True. I am not really, but I figured perhaps it might be too good of a deal... Plus, more info coming and NDA lifted on RX 480 on Wednesday. That would be precisely what I am after. I heard the blower reference cards are quite cool themselves. Only problem I have with that is that, like I said, the Founder's Edition is quite the $$$ gouge. That will be sick. Maybe I should just wait then. I guess I am already iffy about the 980 Ti, so the purchase won't be as satisfying as when I finally do get that 1070. Thread marked as solved.

Woops,my bad. Anyways, all of the cards you linked to are more expensive than the 980 Ti shipped to my door. Also, that was my mistake with the shipping. I was looking at another listing from Canada before, and I got confused. Yes, you are correct, it's USPS. Anyway, this is my whole point. 1. Founder's Edition, 600+ (+tax, shipping) 2. Mostly reference (whereas the 980 Ti is aftermarket) 3. For a savings of over $100, what is everyone's opinion? 4. If they were the same price, or close in price, it wouldn't even be up for debate. Of course I would choose 1070.
