  1. I've been planning on buying a new silent case and was looking at the Define r4 and r5s. The thing I worry about is cooling. I currently have a Corsair 540 and with 3 Corsair HP 120mm fans in the front at full RPM my MSI r9 290 gets up to 88c on the core and vr1 gets up to 80c with the window on. I also have 3 exhuast fans. With the side panel off my temps drop a good 10c across the board and when I have my desk fan blowing into the case it drops it another 7c. Would my 290 just explode if I were to get the Define R5?
  2. Okay I lied, that did not fix GPU usage. It maybe just werked for that round but I tested a few rounds and it is back to going crazy. This is on both Mantle and DX11. Did some more testing. It seems for me to be able to hold a 80% or higher GPU usage I need to max out the entire game and ramp up the resolution scaling to 150%. This however drops me to around 50 fps. This is on DX11.
  3. I beleive this fixed my issues of the stuttering. I just set it to 0.5 and my gpu usage has improved jurrasically. I guess I just get less fps in Hardline than I do Battlefield 4 for whatever reason even though Hardline looks like ass.
  4. Honestly every driver I have used since originally using 14.3 has been a bad experience. The only benefit for me from using 14.12 over 14.3 has been that I can actually hold the 1100 overclock on the GPU. Before on 14.3 it would artifact. I will try doing some more tests tomorrow on Hardline with DX11. However with Battlefield 4 on DX11 is basically the same issues with Mantle only with even less FPS.
  5. System Specs- 2500k @ 4ghz, Asus p8p67 LE 16GB DDR3 1600 r9 290 @ 1100/1250 750w Corsair Bronze PSU First of all my motherboard really limits me to overclocking my 2500k. The last time I tried to OC it I got it to 4.3Ghz and lasted through Prime95 for about 1.5 hours before it bluescreen. Temps were no issue but the board's VRAM may have been getting toasty which may be another reason. Though I was watching a twitch stream during the run so maybe that caused it. Anyways. Basically over time and as I updated my drivers I feel my performance has decreased. When I did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 and AMD 14.3 drivers I averaged on Battlefield 4 on Ultra with no AA or AA deferred around 105 ~ 120+ fps. I capped it at 120 because that is what I set my refresh my rate on the monitor to. The last time I updated my drivers I believe was 14.7. This driver caused a lot of stuttering and so I went back to 14.3 but it just wasn't the same. I always use Display Driver Uninstaller to uninstall old drivers. I recently updated to 14.12 and now I still have stutters and even less average frames with frames dropping all the way down to 55. That has never ever happened. I am using Mantle. A few months ago I tried to play Bad Company 2 and even when I had 100% 120fps steady it still was not smooth. It felt like 60fps and was stuttering. And here I am now playing Battlefield Hardline with stutters. I also noticed that my GPU usage is never stable, that shit is literally all over the place. Here is an example of what it looks like, except worse. What could be happening? Could my CPU be holding me back? I plan on getting a 390x when it comes out but I don't want to be limited by my CPU if that is the case. I am really trying to wait till Skylake comes out to upgrade my CPU and motherboard.
  6. Alright guys, thanks. I figured it had to be a GPU/Motherboard issue. I'll let them know.
  7. So my mom's friends grandpa was having issues with his laptop. He said when he turns his laptop on, nothing appears on the screen. So they brought it over to me to look at. So far I have tried booting with each separate RAM stick. I have tried taking out the HDD. I have tried taking out the battery and holding the power for 60 seconds and then plugging in the cord and have tried an external monitor. Still nothing on the either displays. What else could I try? As of right now all I can think of is either his Motherboard fried, CPU overheated somehow or the GPU is dead. The CPU fan still spins up and the power lights light up as well. What else can I do?
  8. I live in Richmond, VA. Not sure if you can help much since you live in Canada. Also what is the difference between their M and E model? Cause this is the one I was thinking about getting http://www.samsclub.com/sams/60-120hz-led-wifi-3-hdmi-wifi/prod13540086.ip?navAction=
  9. Well actually I was just going to have it mounted on the wall above my desk and connected to my PC directly.
  10. So I plan to pick up a new tv on Black Friday. The max I will be willing to spend is around $850, give or take. Honestly the only thing I will use the TV for is watching Twitch streams and anime as I don't actually watch TV. My current setup is just a VG24qe. The only problems I have with this is that the black levels aren't great, it's too small and the backlight bleeding. THE backlight bleeding! While is isn't noticeable when I'm playing games or even sitting at my pc but when I lay back on my bed and watch shows I can easily tell it is there and it is very annoying. Anyways, the TV needs to be at least 60 inches. I was thinking about getting a Vizio 60". I don't know much about tvs so any information or suggestions are helpful!
  11. I know that it isn't ideal to have one rad after another but I don't want to do it side by side. I am trying to keep it as slim as possible.
  12. The push fans on the first Rad are the intakes.
  13. Okay so I have a quick question about Radiators. Lets say I were to build a custom pc case and had two of THESE enclosed in a rectangle wooden box no wider than the actual Radiators. The rectangle encasement would be about 14 inches long and at the end there will 3 120mm AF optimized Fans to exhaust. If I were to put both Radiators (about 5 inches apart from each other) in this encasement both in push/pull configuration, would the second radiator be gimped on cooling? If so, how much?
