another idea just hit me. a steam machine, got a GTX 580 laying around.

so on last black friday i pulled the trigger on a second SSD (samsung evo 840 250gb) installed it and everything and now that i upgraded to w10 i realized im using it to store documents.... yeah, kinda sad... so id like ideas on what to do with it in terms of use. dualboot, raid 0, make it portable, trade it on craiglist for candies, etc. feel free to pitch in your ideas.

im a little bit more inclined to amd at this point always been a green boy but with the issues ive had in the past and the vram drama on the 970 sounds like a 290x will be my pick whats the best model or 3rd party vendor at this point? xfx looks sexy as bawls

so i finally got the approval to buy a new gpu i have around $350 to spend so give me a model or vendor or just open suggestion if its sold on amazon way better so i get it fast and without shipping costs thanks!

i have never tried the other side... you know the AMD side so maybe its time for me to try it... leave my internal fanboy outside in the cold.

well as stated, the 580 is starting to bend cause of its own weight so im afraid it will break soon. also i might get an actual upgrade in performance as my ol' 580 contains 1.5gb of ram cause its an ugly version of it might as well then just beg the wife for couple more bucks and go for a cheap 970

just saw the linus video and even tho it's not what most people expected im super excited bout the new GPU - time to upgrade and retire the old beast, hopefully that will mark the beggining of me, updating the rest of the rig for something smaller so the wife doesn't complain about my huge pc ruining the living room. will you be getting this new card?
