  1. Yeah this is what I plan to do since I'm sticking with this motherboard and CPU for years, I don't see a reason to upgrade any time soon. Thanks for the help
  2. Yeah I figured, I'm going to keep it at 65w since my mobo's VRM aren't that great
  3. Greetings, short question. My Motherboard's VRM isn't great and I avoided getting an i9 for this exact reason, however, I ended up getting an i7-10700 with an aftermarket cooler. I've run some benchmarks and I don't know if it's underperforming or not, I would guess that it is considering it's behind the i7-7700k in single-core. These tests were done with XMP enabled, I'll also test some games with HWInfo open and see where and if it throttles I'm mostly comparing results with 65w, I don't think my Motherboard could handle power limits off at 125w. All and all my CPU works great, I bought it because I dabble with Video Editing and Photoshop and so far it's working better than my i5-10400F I'll try blowing a fan directly to the VRM and see if it does anything at all, Thank you for your time. My RIG: I7-10700 MSI-B460PRO 32GB (3000mhz, dual channel) RX6700XT
  4. Thanks for reaching out I thought that due to poor VRM it would overheat and throttle the CPU thankfully I have paired it with a decent cooler and had some ideas on how I can cool my VRM even more
  5. No I don't care about over clocking I meant how much is my Motherboard holding my CPU back
  6. Basically I've got a budget board MSI B460M PRO, it's VRM isn't the best in fact it's somewhat poor I understand that my I7 10700f isn't unlocking it's full potential though I already saw big improvements in the video editing program I use, and in the low 1% in games how much am I being bottlenecked is it a HUGE bottleneck comparing to a Z board or more minuscule?
  7. I primarily use Premiere Pro and Vegas Pro for Video editing. Other programs I use are Topaz AI (for upscaling) and Flowframes for interpolation. all the aforementioned programs can use the AMD encoder but it depends on how well they implemented it, someone with a AMD GPU can verify The i7 costs 200 Euros, it would be my last upgrade before moving on to a new board, but seeing my Motherboard's poor VRM I'm highly skeptical and will probably just move to an AMD system P.S: Oh also I thought about buying an i7 because more and more games might utilize 8 cores, so it's kind of a "future proof" move however I might be thinking it wrong
  8. Greece. Basically the i7-10700 costs 200 Euros new and it's the cheapest i7 you can find an AMD equivalent, let's say a 5800x/5700x costs 180 euros plus 100 euros for a good AM4 borad would total to 300 or 280 euros
  9. Hey and Happy New Year! I'm planning to upgrade my i5-10400F to an i7-10700, I was looking for an i9 but I've discovered that my board's VRM isn't that great so an i9 would be out of the question Basically, my main question is would my motherboard throttle the i7 under heavy load? I do not plan to overclock, so I'll probably buy the F or non-F version. I don't want to move to a new motherboard since I believe the i7-10700 is more than capable at what I need it to do, i.e video editing and streaming. If my motherboard can't then I'll probably replace it and go with AMD since they tend to be a bit cheaper nowadays in my country Thanks in advance! 10. Hello there. I'll try to make this question as short as possible, basically I'm upgrading my PC. Is it worth it going for a H410 motherboard if I'm not going to overclock my CPU (or GPU) ever except of course of XMP which doesn't really count as overclocking. Are their VRM's that bad do they throttle to the point where they bring down performance. Also if I want to upgrade later on like even 5 years later to an i7. Will I be bottlenecked by the 2666mhz ram speed? The motherboard I'm thinking to buy is either a MSI H-410 pro or a MSI B460M-A Pro. I was looking some Gigabyte H410 motherboards and B460 one's as well. Thank you in advance. PC Specs i'll pair it with. CPU:I5-10400F RAM:16GB 2666mhz GPU: GTX 1070 PSU: Corsair VS550 (will replace this one down the line) 2 HDD's 1 SSD my specs now. I7-3770 8GB DDR3 1070 PSU: Corsair VS550 2 HDD's 1 SSD
  11. Hello there. I'll try to make this question as short as possible, basically I'm upgrading my PC. I was ready to go with a Gigabyte H410 motherboard yesterday but it went out of stock here in my country, and now I'm aiming for a MSI H410M-A Pro. However I'm second guessing it because I've heard about bad unreliable things about MSI whether that's their support or their quality VRM and bad bios, it's not that I've seen bad reviews about this particular model but just to be sure I thought I'd ask I know most people don't care about the branding and they just look for overall features which is what I'm looking at too like M.2 slots and USB ports. So does anyone else have a bad experience with this motherboard in mind or with other brands? Thank you in advance. PC Specs i'll pair it with. CPU:I5-10400F RAM:16GB 2666mhz GPU: GTX 1070 PSU: Corsair VS550 (will replace this one down the line) 2 HDD's 1 SSD (My asus motherboard for reference that I'll replace that still works from 2013. asus p8h61-m lx3 plus r2.0)
  12. So pretty much I'll go with the gskill, the price difference is around the same. Thank you
