  1. Update : So after using several anti-malware programs and multiple scans, it seems to finally have resolved this problem. Im yet to see if this also fixes my initial memory issue but the cpu usage has returned to normal. I guess the lesson is to not rely on only 1 anti-malware program Edit: I've also ordered an AIO cooler anyway as my case runs slightly hotter than id like (more due to its position in my room than the case or cooling itself).
  2. Thanks, I'm currently running another malware scan and will see what happens. I'm going to look into a good aftermarket cooler anyway as its currently running on the stock unit and I wasnt happy with the noise never mind the cooling performance. Could malware be responsible for the intiial problems i had with the memory errors ? For me to be getting out-of-memory errors with the apps i was running something would need to have been using up over half my memory (16+gigs) Seems like a lot for some malware to be using and show up in resource monitors.
  3. From a google search everything points to some malware or background miner but I cant detect it. ( Or at least i found and remedied some problems but they havent changed this behaviour.)
  4. I've been experiencing various apps crashing with out-of-memory errors ( Either games or chrome crashing ), so I've been doing a little investigating of my system as I have 32gb of ram and not running anything particularly demanding. I've performed 4 memtest86 runs, all of which returned no errors so I've started looking elsewhere. I've noticed it seems to run a little warm so I installed HWMonitor and Ryzen master to keep an eye on things. With just a chrome window open and from a fresh boot i got this result. Temps were real high and the cpu utilisation was pegged at 100% at 3 points. I ran a game (Forza Horizon 4, max settings) for about 20 minutes and as expected temps went up to 95. After closing the game the temps returned to around 83 and the CPU returned to the same above settings. Next I opened task manager to see if could see something using the CPU. As soon as it was opened the CPU utilisation drops to normal leves as does the temperatures. When i close task manager the temp and cpu use goes back up, sometimes straight away, and sometimes over a period of about 10-15minutes but always returning to the levels from the first pic. I've ran some antivirus stuff as well as malware etc with no results so I'm now a little lost. any help would be greatly appreciated.
