  1. Thanks, that very good to know What's best between IPS and TN?
  2. Well, that's kinda the issue I'm having. I don't know if that's what i want. I want a panel that is pleasant to read on, but i don't know what makes a panel pleasant to read on. I have looked into it a little, and VA panels sound more like what I'm looking fore, because of their deeper contrast. But my question remains: What does a nice reading experiance on a monitor entail?
  3. Hi.I don't know much of anything about monitors, but i do need a new one. I read the pinned post about looking at different monitors and reviewers and while that certainly helped with what the different specs mean, it diden't get my any closer to understanding what I actually want from a screen. I do, however, know what i want to use the monitor fore: A shit load of reading (and some light non-competitive gaming like factorio and the withcer III). My uni education contains a whole lot of reading (I expect most other uni educations do to) and I've found that my laptop (Thinkpad e595) is waaaaaaaay nicer to read on, than my 10 years old cheap Phillips monitor/tv combo thing. My issue is this; I am not sure why my laptop is nicer to read on. Some "specs": Both panels are 1920x1080p My Phillips is alot brighter. I think the thinkpads panel is a matte IPS panel w. a contrast ratio of 1871:1 If this articel is to be trusted https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-E595-laptop-review-AMD-laptop-better-than-its-Intel-counterpart.427304.0.html aaaand thats about the extend of my knowledge on the panels. If this is a stupid question, i do apologize. My name is meant to be informative (and slightly humorous)
  4. Yeah I've noticed that you can still get some ancient cards... But they don't look like great options Thanks and Greetings right back
  5. So I've been looking at buying a new GPU for a bit now, due to theier supply issues and more importantly thier price, I've mostly been ignoring the 30 series. But here is the part that i don't really get; I can't seem to find listings for any of the 20 series cards. Can you guys and gals shed som light on this for me? I'm located in Denmark btw.. Don't know if that playes a role. P.s. My username is very much meant to be informative, so i apologize if the question is stupid, but my light googling hasn't been very fruitful.
  6. I think I led you guys up the garden path on this one, I know that it isn't really possible to fix the issue without physical access. I was trying to get some ideas of what to try next time i have phycial access to the router. I should maybe have waited, til then to post about it here, but having my mother and sister around, is not an envoirment conducive to effective work envoirment. But I don't know how to clearly communicat my thoughts in, with the correct terminology and such, so we ended up with a lot of confusion. Sorry about that, but my username, really is meant to be informative. I'm very new to this.
  7. Yeah, I think i generally got people going in the wrong direction on this one, my bad. I was looking for some Idea of what to do, when i can get to the router again. When i added "I don't currently have access to the router, but i do have access to the laptop." to the original post, i meant physical access. My name isn't really a joke at all, I have no idea how to talk about these kinds of problems in the correct/clearest langauge, sorry.
  8. I figuered as much, I made the post hoping to get some idea of what to do next time i can get to router. Sorry, I should probably have included that originally, but my name is meant more for information than comedy.
  9. I am slowly learing that I have no idea how to talk about networking problems yet. I sorry about that. I am currently connected to a different router, about 30 km away from the problematic router. I should probably have made that more clear.
  10. I am currently at my in-law's for a christmas thing, and the router is at my sisters apartment. So i don't currenty have physical access to it. I'm not sure what address i got when i was connected to the router, as i didn't figuer out how to run ipconfig yesterday... (yes I am a bit embarresed about that)
  11. I currently get "10.0.0.15" in my IPv4 address. But I am on a diffenrent network now, does that make a difference?.
