  1. Hey all. I'm getting a new config. I already have most of the parts but I'm still hesitating on the CPU. Here is the specs I already have: Case: NZXT H510 Cooler: NZXT Kraken X53 PSU: Corsair RM750X HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 1TB SSD: Sabrent Rocket 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 (M.2) Motherboard: MSI X570-A Pro RAM: 2x16GB 3200MHz DRR4 Crucial Ballistix GPU: RTX 3080 (jk, still waiting for availability ) I'm coming from a 2013 config with GTX-760 and I5-4570 so it's quite a big upgrade here. I'm based in France and I have 450€ of budget for my CPU. My question is, what CPU should I get ? The main usages I have on my computer are: Gaming (from Warzone, Watchdogs, No Man Sky, to rocket League, DBD...) Working (Dev, Cybersecurity, ...) I may try to stream next year when I will finish my engineer degree. What I'm aiming here with this config is simple: longevity. I want this config to last 5 to 10 years. So I know the Ryzen 5000 are not released yet, but I'm hesitating between Ryzen 7 5800X: 450€ at launch More recent Zen3 Less cores but better single thread performance Or Ryzen 9 3900X: cheaper (~385€ currently) Zen2 More cores but lower single thread performance I have the feeling that the Ryzen 7 5800X is the way to go because 8 cores is plenty enough, but at the same time the Ryzen 9 3900X has double the cache and since I'm aiming for longevity, more cores may be a better choice. I will of course wait for independant review of the Ryzen 7 5800X but still, I think you can help me to make an educated choice here. Thanks !
