  1. Well I already have the monitors because I got a good deal on them, I want to pick the best ones for me to keep, the rest I was going to sell to fund buying other stuff. All but one of the monitors are TN.
  2. Well 15 of them are 1080p or higher but all are 60hz, but with all of them I feel like I can only pick 2 or 3 of those at once. Like one monitor is a 24" 1920x1200 IPS, but it a high response time(one site said 6ms another said 12ms ), another is a 24" 1080p with a 2ms response time, but it is a TN panel. Some have LED backlight, some are CFL.
  3. I recently got a lot(40+) of monitors for dirt cheap($1 each) they are all 2016 or older. I plan to pick some for my main rig, and pick some for some projects I want to do with parts I have, and the rest will be sold to help finish the projects and make the whole room setup better. I have been trying to figure this out by myself for the past month or so, but every time I get part way through I start to second guess myself. I just want to pick the best option for my situation.
  4. Ok I did that, and the pc will now just crash to a restart, it no longer freezes first, it just goes straight to a black screen.
  5. I did have a warranty, but i bought my cpu in 2017, over 5 years ago, and AMD only has a 3 year warranty.
  6. Ok it took a while, but it did crash again after upping the voltage, so i am guessing that means bad CPU? because i was really hoping it was not, because i can't afford to replace it right now...
  7. Looking at HWinfo, the voltage did mostly says 1.1, but it was not fixed voltage, normally was bouncing from 1.14 to 1.18, but would sometimes jump to 1.2 When i did the overclock, into the bios to OC Tweaker, and set the cpu frequency to 2700mhz ,and the core voltage to manual and to 1.1000v I have gone back into the bios and set the core voltage, and soc voltage to 1.2, and am currently waiting to see if i get a crash or not.
  8. that is not even an overclock, that is underclocking, and it was running at default setting before. As for Even Viewer ,there is never anything at the exact time of crash, but I do get 2 different errors about 40 minutes after the crash. source: WHEA-Logger with the Event ID 18, and get 3 errors like this A fatal hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source: Machine Check Exception Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error Processor APIC ID: 15 The details view of this entry contains further information. The difference between the 3 are different Processor APIC ID's, the ones that come up are 15, 2 and 0 I also get another error from source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Processor-Power Performance power management features on processor 1 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware. I get enough of those to go all the way to processor 15. i don't know if it is normal for errors to show up 40+ minutes after the crash...
  9. Ok, i put the voltage, at 1.1v, and lowered the clocks to 2.7ghz from the stock 3ghz. and it still did the same thing, should I lower it more?
  10. I am currently running it at stock clock and voltage, what would you advise I set it to? I do now remember having run that before, but I did it again just in case, and it found no problems.
  11. I could really use some help, my pc keeps crashing and I have been trying for months to fix the cause... I will be using it and it will randomly freeze out of nowhere for a second, then the screen goes black and the pc starts to boot again. The weird part is that it is more likely to do it at idle than under load, as long as I leave a game running like Minecraft(or just about any game) it will be a lot longer before a crash happens. if I have a game running it could be once or twice a week that this will happen, but without a game running it will happen 4+ times a day if not more. I tried virus and malware scanning, nothing found, I tried cleaning out windows startup. I have also stress tested with prime95, OCCT, Furmark, At this point I would start replacing parts to test if it is a hardware issue, but I don't have the spare parts or the money to just buy a part to test with, and i don't have any friend that live nearby with similar parts. I have no clue where to go from here and it is driving me crazy... Edit: my current system is: Ryzen 1700 2x8gb Gskills ripjawz V 3200MHz AsRock x370 Taichi EVGA GTX 1060 6GB Corsair TX 650w 2x Samsung 840's in raid 0 1x 3TB HDD, 2x 2TB HDD, 1x 500GB HDD
  12. Ok I just recently got a good deal on Facebook Marketplace I got around 40 used monitors for $40 My plan was to upgrade my setup, and my sister's setup, because both of us have a old dell 4:3 in our current setups. She mainly just wants to replace the old dell, so hers will be easy, mine I am having trouble. After I plan to sell any that are leftover. I Do want to do video editing at some point, but most of what I do currently is gaming, and watching stuff, I currently play Forza Horizon 5, Minecraft, Battlefield 2042 and whatever game i currently have on steam and get in the mood for. My current setup is: HP LP2480zx as my main, Gateway HD2200 is my left monitor, and my right monitor is an old Dell 1907fp. Now I really like my HP screen because it is really vibrant and every other screen feels washed out next to it, but I have started to notice that the colors are far off every other monitor, and I don't have anyway to calibrate it. I could just keep it and ignore it being off for now, and one of the monitors I got is a Samsung that has the same resolution as the HP, and do that as a side monitor, and any screen as the 3rd. But I could also just put it off to the side and go back to 1080p. If I do that I was thinking I have 2 options, i have an Asus VS248H-P I could use as my main screen and any other screens as my side screens, or I found that I have 3 Dell P2312HT and I could go and have a matching screen setup. I have been thinking about it for the past day or 2, and I don't really know what to do. What do you guys think I should do?
  13. Ok my friend was on his PC and it was wanting to update, but he canceled it because his c drive was almost full and he needed to make space. He planned to do it in the morning, and at one point that night he go to reboot because it was running slow(from having not restarted in a while). As soon as it started to boot, it would not boot into windows. it would go to the blue screen with the troubleshooting options. He has tried startup repair, and it says it could not fix it, he has tried system restore, and it says an error saying something about not specifying a widnows install, but it does not give him the option to do so. He tried discpart in the CMD, and it showed his OS drive as disk0, but i think later in it, it showed the drive letters, and the drive that was OS was on is showing as having the drive letter D: We tried removing all other installed and just booting off that drive in the hopes it that it may force the drive letter back, but that didn't work either. It there anything else we can try to save the OS, or at least the data on the drive? Because he has not backed up in the past month because he has been really busy working from home, and he has things on that drive that cannot replace. He is going to start backing up more often.
  14. It's not quite ready I need to get a better PSU, because it used to have a 600w that died, and my Cenibench scores are a lot power with this PSU.
  15. Hey guys, I need some help, I have been building a workstation, mainly from parts I have, because i am on a low budget. But my anxiety has been getting the best of me and my worry is that I am going spend the money to finish it, and it is not going to do what I want the way I want. My planned Use for the system is Video editing for Youtube using a mix of Lightworks and Davinci Resolve, I won't be doing a lot of effects at frirst until I learn the programs more in-depth, I will mostly be editing 1080p 60fps, thought I may sometimes do 4k 30fps. I also plan to do Music Production using FLStudio using mostly samples until I can learn the software better. Last I plan to do Photo editing with Paint.net I will be using it to make thumbnails, I have not done it before, so i don't know how many layer it will take. Here is the build so far. Will it be able to do what I want smoothly? Or Should I be planning a more powerful budget system? Intel I7 930 Intel Stock Cooler Intel DX58SO 1x 8gb Gskill DDR3 1600Mhz 1x 4gb PNY DDR3 1333Mhz 2x Samsung 4gb DDR3 1333Mhz NZXT Source 210 Antec Earthwatts EA500D Green 500w PSU EVGA GTX 970 SSC 4GB 1x 1TB Dell WD HDD 3x 500GB Seagate HDD 1x 250GB Seagate HDD Samsung UN40M5300AF 40in 1080p TV Acer H243H 1080p Dell L100 Keyboard ONN M241-Black Mouse Current Upgrades that I was planning: X5670 Tower Cooler So I can overclock 240GB or larger SSD Swap the PSU out for a 600w or bigger PSU A Midi Keyboard If it helps, I am also building a home server and HTPC from parts, my current budget is $60 cash, and then selling or trading off extra parts I have, thought if the Stimulus comes through I can spend some of it, but not all of it.
  16. Well Family Mobile(which uses TMobile's Network) is telling me that my phone won't and i have to get a new phone or service with someone else... The problem is i really can't afford a new phone...
  17. Ok i bought a new phone 6 months ago and have been loving it, but when i went to pay my phone bill today i got this message. "Unfortunately, we’re unable to complete your transaction today. Your current phone is not compatible with the network changes which means you may be experiencing dropped calls and poor reception. It will stop working January 29, 2021. " It is still working despite what that says, but they won't let me pay my bill. I am using Walmart Family Mobile and my phone is a Redmi Note 8. From what i have read both Family mobile(uses Tmobile towers) and Tmobile are moving over to 5g, and shutting down 2g and 3g. Are there any services that use sims cards that are not doing that, or am i forced to replace a perfectly good phone that is less than a year old?
  18. Do i need to install a bootloader if i am installing each OS on different drives while trying to setup a triple boot? If so which one would you suggest? Also what order should i install the OS's in? If it helps it will be: Windows 10 Pro on a 1TB HDD Mac OSX High Serria on a 500GB HDD Unbuntu Studio on a 250GB HDD

  20. Here is the current part list: AMD FX-6300 Asus M5A97 LE 2.0 8GB of DDR3 1333Mhz Asus GT 240 1GB Cooler Master Elite 350 CoolMax M500B PSU (Thinking of changing it out for a Cooler Master RS-500-PCAR-A3) 6x 500GB Desktop HDD's 1x 500GB Laptop Drive 1x 1TB Laptop Drive 3x SATA DVD Drives (May add in a 4 if I can find one in my parts) Now one of my problems is that either PSU I use is not enough SATA power plugs, is this safe to use? https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Power-Splitter-Adapter-PYO4SATA/dp/B0086OGN9E/ref=sr_1_15?dchild=1&keywords=sata+power+cable&qid=1608011069&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&sr=8-15 Also there is only 6 onboard SATA ports on the motherboard, so my second question is. What is a cheap but decent way for me to be able to hook all of them up? I'm am trying to spend as little as possible, due to me not currently having a job. If it helps here is my planned use case for this system. The first thing I am going to do is setup Plex, and start using Handbrake and the DVD drives to back up around 300 DVD's my family has gotten over the past 15 years. Once I have done that I also plan on setting up a Minecraft server for family and friends to play on, max of 8 total users, and I will also be setting up a FiveM server that I am developing, I will not be running the final server on this system.
  21. I recently gotten 3 old TV's that all have some problems, and I want to fix all of them. My plan is keep 2 and sell the other to save for pc parts, but i am having trouble deciding which. Please do keep in mind that i don't need the Best of the best, i am looking for the best bang for the buck. The planned use cases for the one's i keep are: One of them i plan to hook up to a HTPC, and it will be doing movie streaming(Netflix ,Hulu ,Plex ,Ect.) and i may stream some games from my main pc. The other TV will be be used with my old Xbox 360 and PS2 if i am ever in the mood to go play them. Here are the TV's and what is wrong: Samsung UN40M5300AF (it has a bad power supply board, around $20 on ebay) Vizio E420VO (it has a bad Main board, around $55 on ebay) Pioneer PDP-4300HD (It has mild screen burn in, but after running 30 minutes of a fast moving video it has started to clear up)
  22. Sorry for the late reply guys i finally fell asleep about 30 minutes after posting this. Well the only chances I will have of getting a new GPU is if we get another stimulus here in the US, and if there is anything left over after a few car repairs that will be needing done soon. The 19inch 720p TV is a side monitor on my main system, I would of used the Acer from the workstation but it's HDMI port is broken, and my GPU's only DVI port is being used by the dell monitor. The 32 inch is the TV that the HTPC is hooked to, But I got the TV for free, I do have a 40in Samsung 1080p that I forgot about, but it does have a bad power board.
  23. Warning this is a very big post. I am making this post for a few reasons, I am bored and can't sleep, But I also know that I do want to be able to upgrade over time as needed. Now my biggest problem is I am broke because I lost my job due declining mental and physical health, and have been unable to get another one since. So I really need to be careful on what I spend any money. I will either have to sell or trade off oldest stuff, ask for things for birthday or Christmas, or if we get a second stimulus here in the US, and there is is any left after some car repairs that most likely need done soon, then I might be able to spend that. So the main reason I am making this is I am hoping for help planning out what should be upgraded and the order in which to do it. Because one of my mental health problems I am struggling with is bad ADHD and I can plan a new build all day, but when it come to upgrades I can't seem to figure out, like my mind goes blank. Workstation: I will be using it to learn video editing more, also trying to learn to make music and how to use photoshop, while not taking up all the space on my main PC, Also if i am editing a video on my main pc, and it is going to take over an hour to export, I may move it to the workstation to export so I can keep using my main PC. HTPC: I will be using it for Video and music streaming, I also plan to do Steam in home streaming from my main pc. I also plan to do some eumlation, and storing back ups. Server: I plan to use it as a game server and home data server, I know FiveM for sure, but unsure what other games I will end up doing. Laptop,Tablet and Phone: You know what a phone is used for, and my sister bought the Xiaomi for me to replace my aging Samsung. The laptop I use if I am going to be wait somewhere and want a screen bigger than my phone. The tablet I tend to use it in bed. Console's: The xbox I just need to get a power cord so I can use it to play a few 360 games i still have. The PS2 I plan to install a hard drive soft mod it. Other Things: The tanker desk I plan to restore one day when I have money. The walmart desk I plan to use till I can get a better side desk to replace it. The chair is good, but the piston is slowly being pushed out the bottom of the base, I am guessing due to my weight. The parts I have been using for experimenting(I.E. I overclocked an e8400 to 4Ghz with a hyper TX3) Or sometimes I will put together a pc for a family member. I7 2600 system: I will be letting my sister use that pc until it breaks or she gets a new one. Thank you guys for reading this huge post and for any and all advice. I will also be posting this elsewhere to get better chances to get help.
