  1. Hmm didn't know you could use curve optimizer with a 3D. I'll have to check it out, but I guess its not that big of a deal if this is normal though. I am pleased with this generation. 140-200 FPS in battlefield 2042 ultra settings, with the 384 bit 3080TI. Strangely enough its higher fps than the 4080 according to benchmarks.
  2. So I have a 5800X3D with the corsair h100I 240mm cooler. Max temp during CPUz stress test is 74c. But in battlefield 2042 loading screens it gets up to 90c then drops shortly after. Average temps in battlefield are 75-82c. (Battlefield 2042 uses 75-90% of my CPU to max out my GPU.) Why is it getting more hot during loading screens than a stress test? Should I get a better cooler? I saw a few places say this is normal then a few places say its not so not really sure about this. I am thinking its getting hotter in games from the vcache but idk. Can anyone help explain this and if this is safe or not?
  3. Hey guys, I don't really want to do manual overclocking, which one would be better? MSI after burner? My guess would be afterburner. I have already noticed less 1% drops by setting power limits to 108% instead of 100%. Nvidia Auto tuner did +63 mhz with 200+ VRAM. I watched a a video of Jayztwocents and he pointed out FPS loss due to errors with VRAM when going too high with vram
  4. Out of the box it sits at 1995mhz without fluctuation. I imagine that is pretty good after looking at a few videos, that's not overclocked. 0.0
  5. This is the 384 bit version with gddr6X vram. Its stock powerlimit is 350 watts. In afterburner it can go up to 108% power instead of 100% but it also raises max temp to 91 from 83. I have after burner set to the default custom fan curve and don't ever exceed 75c. I heard you can't damage your GPU overclocking but it still scares the heck out of me but its very tempting since this card can do so much with so low temps. Also would the performance gain be noticeable? I know some versions like a ventus won't get much but the trio & suprim I heard are better but again still very noob to overclocking and would just be raising power limits to 108% then doing the OC scan with Nvidia's OC tool built into the driver. I do have a good CPU to push frames, 5800X3D with 32 gigs of 3600mhz ram.
  6. I already know about combo strike, tech jesus did a pretty good review on it, and its a dumpster fire. I already know I cannot overclock a 5800X3D, and stated I do not want to OC. I want to know more what user scenerio does and what gaming mode does with MSI center, I don't want to risk OCing if thats what user scenerio does.
  7. Wondering if MSI center's User Scenario will do me any good/MSI game mode. I don't want any overclocking done on my CPU.
  8. Hey guys not extremely sure if I can benefit from using MSI center's user scenario with extreme performance. It does a small amount of overclocking with the CPU and gpu. However, I noticed 4.3ghz with 1.372mv seems pretty stable and has very low temps. Will I lose performance on this all cores overclock in single threaded games? I would think yes, but I am wondering how it would affect something like AC Valhalla. I want to get my 1% fps drops as even as possible with the rest of my frames. Not too concerned about losing the small overclock on the GPU as it only does +15mhz and +50 so as far as I am concerned thats maybe 1 - 2 frames. Anyone know anything about these custom AMD profiles and also the pros and cons of having an all core OC? I have a very good 360mm cooler with thermal grizzly so thermal's are not a concern. I hate stutters and want to eliminate 1% drops as much as possible. (I have Gsync) and an rtx 3080. CPU is R7 5800x. 3600mz 32gb RAM and MSI x570 MPG gaming edge. I cannot find any reviews on MSI center that show if custom profiles do anything, and I have tried both and it seems hard to tell. I think the all core OC is a little more stable but idk the science behind it so not sure..?
  9. Gamers Nexus stated that the Zen 3 gain a benefit from having 4 ram slots used vs 2, and that it wasn't the amount that changed the performance but the PCI lanes being used. But the test they used was with the 5600x, so not sure if it would be the same with 5800x
  10. Hi, I made a new build and currently have 16 gigs of 3600mhz ram for my Ryzen 5800x. I noticed windows uses around 5 or 6 gigs of ram, I heard there isn't much of a difference in performance if you're just using it for gaming (which I am) but I also heard the 5800x is extremely sensitive to memory and can't find anything on youtube covering RAM with new gen ryzens. Will I gain any benefit to gaming if I upgrade to 32 gigs?
  11. I bought an open box Aorus x570 pro wifi, there was a slight bend in the little cooling sync by the mofset. The temps are all fine but these are the voltage range's. A friend told me the voltage shouldn't change anymore than 1.
  12. I swapped out the motherboard, getting 95-97% gpu usage while having only 10% - 40% CPU usage. I have a Ryzen 5800x, dont think its bottlenecking.
  13. Thanks Ronothan, I think I am going to go with the x570 still because this b550 in here I can tell its cheap by looking at it vs other b550s and the VRM coolers are small. I been having issues utalizing my entire GPU, (I have a gold certified 850 watt PSU) so I know it draws enough power) but I only use about 80% of my GPU. I can't help but to feel like there are power limits happening to how far my CPU and GPU can push. I don't know a whole lot about motherboards, power draw ect, but its a hunch bc the bios support is really limited too. I used to have a really nice motherboard back in the day and my ddr3 felt higher end than this.
  14. I have a premade PC that has a Ryzen 5800x, Gygabyte 3070 OC, and a Cyberpower made version of Gygabyte b550 UD AC for the motherboard. I have been thinking about getting an X570, but I am not sure if its worth the extra $200 because all I do is play video games on here, and don't plan on overclocking.
