    New build

If am not wrong flashing bios will also update it right? Edit: also I've read that I should use less than 16gb usb stick to flash it, but I dont have that small at the moment. But the led for indicating the flash stopped flashing so I suppose it was succesful. I frustrated that it is not working and I dont know why....
  2. Hi, I build new PC from scratch and am not able to get to bios or boot. I have MSI X570 tomahawk with Ryzen 5800X. Am still waiting for 3080 to arrive so am using my older MSI 1070 Gaming X. I put everything together and went to first turn on. It didnt work, only EZ Debug CPU led light up. I googled a bit, removed everything except m.2 and tried CMOS reset by shorting pins. Then flashing bios with official bios from MSI site. The led to indicate flash started blinking and then stopped, according to the reddit post I was following, the PC should have rebooted on its own. I tried this flash bios few times but it never restarted on its own. So I had to turn it off by switching PSU switch. Then I tried one last thing, putting everything back in and starting the PC. Suddenly the EZ debug CPU led turned off and I got 1 long and 2 short beeps from MB. According to manual this indicates failure in GPU or other video error. But I was using that GPU just few hours ago in my old PC. So I installed it back into old PC and it works perfectly. Then put it back to the new one and I got still 1 long 2 short beeps... Now on EZ debug LEDS sometimes the VGA led is on or Boot led, but PC just wont post or get into bios. I also found that I should try the VGA port, but this MB has only HDMI. Also the Ryzen 5800x does not have integrated GPU so am not sure if the HDMI should work at all. I also tried putting DP cable into the GPU, but still no output to the monitor. Any help appreciated :)
  3. @boggy77 thank you very much, then I'd rather save a bit of money and go with this https://www.gskill.com/product/165/184/1562831784/F4-3600C16D-32GVKC-Overview
  4. @boggy77 please do you think the RAM latency pattern would make a noticable difference? Because seems like there are multiple different modules with CL16, some have 16-19-19-39 others 16-16-16-36 or 16-18-18-38, I don't understand those numbers much But seems like the price for the ones with smaller numbers is higher therefore it has to do something with performance any advice ?
  5. It even seems like that MSI 570 tomahawk should be compatible with it awesome
  6. @boggy77 Should I wait for 5900X ? I've seen the presentation and it seems like its game changing
  7. Thanks for quick reply @boggy77 the MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK in nearby local store looks great, I should be able to even fit that beefy cooler right ?
  8. Hi, I want to choose good motherboard for my future PC. I would like to buy ryzen 3900X or newer one 5800/5900X depending on price to performance ratio I also want to buy MSI RTX 3080 Gaming X 10G 32 GB of memory just 3200MHz but I would reconsider if some valuable advice was given to go higher speeds Important is that I will probably buy Noctua NH-D15 to cool that CPU which is really huge so I want to avoid buying motherboard where I couldn't fit all the mentioned stuff. I don't need any special features, just PCIE X16 (this is pretty obvious ) ,at least one M.2 slot which is kinda standard now and at least 4 SATA for my SSDs and HDD. Any advice will be helpful My budget is around up to 250E for motherboard. I have my eyes on ASUS TUF X570-PLUS GAMING, ASUS ROG STRIX B550-E GAMING or MSI MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE but any other suggestions are welcomed Thank you all in advance for any opinions or suggestions
  9. @Deli thanks, I already own dell ultrasharp, so am pretty much satisfied with the brand, as I will be buying the monitor in a month I will probably watch out for some deals
  10. @Deli do you actually have it? Is it good ?
  11. @j1mgg wow that monitor looks awesome thanks I will definitely consider it, this model is not available in store I buy all the PC stuff so I didnt knew about it at all.
  12. Hi all, frankly I went through loads of reddit posts and 7 whole google pages :D, but I am still not sure what I am looking for :D My situation: I am going to build new gaming PC with 3080(when they are finally available), so I am tryting to also upgrade my monitor. I pretty much settled that 1440p 144Hz would be best option for me (probably). I play mosty RPGs(WOW, Elder scrolls, witcher...), strategies (w3, SC2), open world games (GTA/Saints row/Just cause...) and sandboxes (Factorio, Satisfactory, space engineers...) So am looking for kinda all rounder with exception of first person shooters which I play really really rarely. I think I need IPS or VA panel as I really like nice colors and good contrast. Am not sure about curved or non curved but I want 27-29 inch at most. Also my budget is around 500Euros (roughly 590$ or 780CAD with current rate) Any suggestions are appreciated :) Thanks
