So this is a weird one...
Been through as many forums I can imagine and haven't found any solution for this yet.
Brand new mini-ITX build in Fractal Design Core 500 case.
MB: Asus ROG Strix B450-i Gaming
CPU: Ryzen 5 3400G (APU, built in graphics)
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengence LPX3200 CL16 DDR4
GPU: Asus RTX2060 6GB DUAL mini OC
PSU: Cooler Master Reactor 550W 80+ Gold
Storage: Kingston A2000 1TB NVME
Ad storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD
Cooler: Noctua NH-D9L
Also an old optic DVD drive I had lying around.
Memory set to 3200MHz, automatic optimization settings from UEFI BIOS.
Built the rig for my sister, at first everything worked like a charm. Installed windows without a hitch, ran some games 1080p Ultra settings, buttersmooth. Also ran some light stress tests while monitoring temps and no issues.
Problem started after I handed the computer over to my sister who within 2 days started experiencing crashes while gaming. It crashed 3 times and after that wouldn't boot windows again, would get stuck on "windows repair".
Eventually with everything disconnected except for MB, CPU, SSD and one RAM stick we managed to reinstall windows though the computer crashed 3 times during installation process.
Windows would again boot sometimes but usually crashed or froze during boot up, eventually wouldn't boot at all again.
Have tried replacing RAM with Corsair vengence 4GB LPX from my other rig and the same problem.
Have updated BIOS, same issue.
Clear CMOS, same issue.
Have tried with another PSU, same issue.
Eventually we managed to get both MB and CPU replaced with brand new ones. (I do not have another AMD rig to test MB/CPU individually)
Computer booted up and repaired windows from the old installation without a problem and the issue seemed to be resolved.
Put all the parts back together, original RAM, original GPU, extra storage etc......
Everything was once again working normally.
One day later...computer is once again crashing during windows boot.....and computer is now also crashing while atempting to boot windows installer from Flash drive without any internal storage connected.
The one thing I've managed to find so far is that the issues seem to have started after installing Photoshop, though I can't imagine how a software could so severely cripple the hardware.
What we haven't done is trying to replace the RAM after the MB and CPU was replaced, this is because my sister doesn't have access to any other RAM to test with and we live 5 hours apart.
Will be running MemTest86 later today.
