my GPU is completely overclocked (its a Gtx 1060 btw) and it hardly makes a difference. if you have to ask how to, then you shouldn't be overclocking,
but if you really want to, instead of asking, look it up.
Make sure you have the latest drivers installed, and if you turn on vsync if your screens refresh rate is 60 you will only get 60 if its 144 you will get 144 fps.

Have you tried making sure that the hdmi/vga/dvi/display port is in all the way? i had the same problem what fixed it was switching around the hdmi
this is probably not what you want to do, but have you tried using the older driver in a dual booted windows os? and see if its the windows os or the drivers/gpu.
