  1. Do I have to delete everything from windows.old and reinstall the programs?
  2. Does anybody know how to retrieve all old games and programs from my windows.old folder? I had to reinstall and was wondering if I can open the apps and programs from the folder or if I have to completely reinstall them.
  3. Definitely will be a lesson for me. Nothing else seems to be working for me so I am going to try the custom install of windows. It seems like the best option at this point. I'll follow the instructions the website says and let you know what happens. Thank you for all of your help.
  4. Do you mean this link here? If so, when going through the install do I use the custom option or the upgrade option?
  5. When I run list vol it says that it is a partition just like the other 2 partitions in that drive. I tried running fixboot again and it just said access denied. I have my windows usb ready, should I just do a custom install and keep as much data as I can?
  6. When I ran the override command it did not seem like it did much. Just gave me a long list of commands that I can run and what they would do. I ran bcdedit and it listed a lot of stuff as well. Should I try the bootrec /FixMbr bootrec /FixBoot bootrec /ScanOs bootrec /RebuildBcd commands now?
  7. I ran that command and it gave me a long list of commands that I can do. What do I do now? Also, I don't know what the bcdedit command is. Sorry for having so many questions and thank you for helping.
  8. This is what I got from running all of that
  9. When I use the bootrec /FixBoot it outputs "access is denied".
  10. I also changed the boot priority in my bios to make sure that it was booting from the m.2 and not the hdd.
  11. I used macrium reflect v8. I looked on the app and it seemed to copy over every partition that the old drive had. Both drives are 1tb. If I reinstall, will I lose all of my data?
  12. I got a new m.2 ssd for Christmas and transferred data from my hard drive. I wanted to use this hard drive as extra storage space, so I used CMD to clear it. I wiped the drive, and then after it was wiped I tried to reset my computer and it would not boot. This is the drive that originally had windows installed on it, but after I transferred that to the m.2 I thought it would be okay. When I turn on my computer it says "your computer needs repairing" and I get code 0xc00000e. Anybody know how I could fix this? I tried using the Windows automatic repair tool and rebuilding the bcd already but neither seemed to work

  14. When I try to use "clean all" in diskpart it just freezes essentially. I can not type anything else in the window and it does not have any output text. I let it sit for about an hour and a half but nothing happened. Any ideas on how to fix it or why this is happening?
  15. I recently upgraded the storage in my pc from a hard drive to an m.2 ssd. After transferring data to my new drive, I want to use my old hard drive for extra storage. I was wondering if anybody knows how to wipe just the one hard drive. Anything helps. Thanks!
  16. I bought an NZXT Kraken Z63 recently for my new cpu. When I set it up the first time, the fans weren't spinning but the AIO was turning on. I made sure that everything was plugged in to the right spots, and even tried a different fan on the 4 pin fan connecters to make sure they were working. The other fans that I tried also didn't work. Now when I turn it on the AIO and the lcd screen don't even turn on with it. Update: Fixed the issues
  17. My CPU has very high idle temps (around 50-60c) and I do not know if this is bad for my pc or not. Any tips?
  18. From what it seems, I was having a similar error a while ago and I reset my cmos and installed new drivers for my graphics card and that fixed it for me.
  19. I am idling at 60c, but the problem now is that the system isn't posting.
  20. I recently got an AMD Ryzen 7 3800x for my birthday, paired with an ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming motherboard. I installed the new motherboard and cpu successfully, but when checking the temps I noticed that they were oddly high. I read somewhere online that with the 3800x, you have to undervolt it and overclock it to take temps down while still not losing too much performance. I attemped to do this, but after the fist try not doing anything, I tried again. The second time I did it, when I tried to boot it the red CPU light on my motherboard was lit. I tried to reset my cmos without any success. I have no idea how to fix this issue and would accept any help. (My max temp when running Cinebench was about 85c) Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith Prism Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming Ram: 16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz GPU: MSI 1660 ti Gaming X Power Supply: Corsair CX 650M
