  1. Hello, I was studying my temps the other day and I started to notice my hot spot temps, which coincides with my memory junction temps, are at 107 degrees Celsius max. I haven't noticed any issues while gaming but I thought this was pretty high. It this normal or is it time to replace my thermal pads? Maybe I should try that thermal pad paste that LTT posted a video on not to long ago in the video titled "More FPS for just $10". Please let me know what you all think. Thank You!
  2. I figured out the hdmi port is had no display. I bought a dp to hdmi adapter to test it and it works. I don’t want to use this adapter because it’s limited at 1080p and I can’t find anything that adapts while retaining 4K 60hz w/ hdr. Does anyone know of one? If not I’m gonna return it and find one with a working hdmi
  3. Attempted to clear cmos again. This time I used a bit of foil to short it. I even replaced my bios battery. Still nothing
  4. Yes it was. I’ll attempt it again tho. I’ll post if it worked
  5. I have a b450 max, R5 3600x, 80 plus gold psu, rtx 2080 super MSI trio. It used to have vga debug light stuck on boot. I just replaced my psu thinking it was the culprit. It got the led to turn off but I still get no display. I test it with my old 720 and it works fine! I cleared cmos, took out battery, switched around the 8pin cables, switched hdmi. I can’t test another pcie slot for clearance issues. Tips?
  6. Here’s an updated pic if it might help P. S. Don’t get mad at me for my cpu fan orientation
  7. I don’t have a jumper but I used a flat head and a sprudger, each for 30 seconds with unplugged psu, switched off. I took the battery out for at least a min as well. When I did that it got stuck on boot led but restarted it now there’s no more debug leds lit.
  8. Hello everyone after getting a new psu, the vga light turns off now, but I still get no display!
  9. Thanks for the reply! I tested the pci slot with a 720 and it works fine. And I don’t have the clearance to use my lower slots because of my hard drive bay. But considering it works with another card, I don’t think that’s it.
  10. Hello, yeah it’s either that or the card is faulty. Going to Best Buy rn to buy the Corsair 80 plus gold. Wish me luck that this will fix it. If not I’m gonna unleash hell on who sold me this card
  11. Hello, I have a msi gaming trio 2080 super, R5 3600x, b450 max, kdm 775w psu. I just bought the gpu and it never posts. I know the pc works fine with my old gpu. But when I switch it back it stays stuck on vga led. I have a feeling it’s either the psu or the card is faulty but I’m hoping someone can help me out here. I tried clearing cmos, I use 2 different metal pieces and left them there for at least 30 seconds each with psu switch off. I test it with my gt 720 and updated my chipset and bios and manually downloaded 2080 driver. No no extras are plugged in. Only essentials. I tested each 8pin plug on my psu with a multimeter m and 2 pins didn’t work. I stole power from my sata and molex plugs and soughterd it to route power to gpu. I have no more ideas
  12. I took apart and reassembled my pc and got it to post with the 720! But unfortunately the 2080 is still not working the diagnostic light is working now too. It’s the “vga” one. Manual says it means the cpu isn’t detecting the card. So I think maybe it’s the power supply. I have a generic kdm ATX 775w power supply. It worked with the gigabyte 2060 super 6+8pin connectors but the new card has 8+8 pin. I got my multimeter and discovered that 2 pins on one of the 8 pin connectors dont work. So I got my multimeter and found a power source from 4 pin hdd connector. I hardwired it into my broken 8pin. But it STILL doesn’t work

  14. Hello, here is a pic of my pc. I have a msi 2080 super, R5 3600x, b450 max. Last week I sold my gigabyte 2060 to invest into something a little better. After I sold it, I was trying to use my old gt 720 but it wasn’t working. Wasn’t sure what was happening but I just dealt with just using my smart tv until I got my 2080, thinking it would work with the new card. I just got it today and popped that bad boy in and it still doesn’t post. I’m pretty much still at a loss. The only thing that changed is the graphics card. Do you think taking apart the whole computer and putting it back together might kickstart it? I kinda don’t want to do that tho lol, I wanna save that for last if nothing works or no one can come up with some tips. So the pc powers on, and the beeps sound normal, the fans seem normal, the only thing odd is it’s not posting or even possibly displaying.
  15. Hey guys. So I confirmed it’s posting on my OLDERR pc from over 10 years ago. Pc has some problems so it didn’t boot all the way but here’s a pic. I am using no adapters. Trying to use hdmi because that’s all I have compatable with any tv/monitor in my home. Anyways, so we definitely know the problem lies with my main pc. And I believe I do have my pc set up with uefi. But I looked up the compability list of the b450 max and the gt 720 was on there. Confirmed on pcpartpicker
  16. Hello everyone, my first time posting here and im really having a bad day about what’s happened/happening. So to start, I sold my 2060 super today to invest into a 2080 super. Since I’ll be buying it online, I’m without a graphics card for about a week or two. I have a b450 max motherboard and a R5 3600x. So I thought I’d be able to use my computer without the graphics card. Big nope... I learned my version doesn’t output graphics. So plan B, my old gt 720! I dug it out and cleaned the contacts and slid that baby in anndd... nothing. I tried both pcie slots and nothing. Doesn’t post at all. I’m at a total loss at what to do. I’ve been researching for hours and I cannot find even a possible solution. Maybe I have to flash my board to a different version? I also noticed the vga port on the gt 720 is missing. Maybe that’s why it’s not working?
