  1. What would you say is the best way for a clean install? I have tried reinstalling while saving personal files and it wouldn't work. I have a flash with windows and my important shit on another flash drive.
  2. Hello. I realized 2 years or less ago, that when windows tries to install updates, it would fail. I retried it manually, and it kept failing with the first image being shown. I tried reinstalling windows while saving my personal files, and it seemed like it was working. But then at the end, it reverted the changes. I just narrowed the problem down after going to this site https://appuals.com/windows-10-wont-install-or-download-updates/ . I found out that the problem is my BITS (background intelligent transfer service) as it was stopped. You can see it in the 2nd pic. I started it and retried and it still didn't work, and I relooked at BITS and it was stopped again! It keeps cutting off after about 2 minutes. The action on startup was set to manual, so I set it to automatically start on startup and restarted my comp. After 2 minutes, once again, it shut off and the startup was set to manual. I tried the steps in that link I previously listed and the solution 4 actually helped once and only once. After restarting, windows update actually said check for updates and was actually doing it for more than 1 seconds. Then BITS stopped again, and I was unable to get it checking for updates again. I have a windows 10 home Version 1709 build 16299.192 , 1080ti gpu, ryzen 7 3700x 1TB ssd
  3. Thanks for letting me know.
  4. I was sent this by my dad, and it talked about Signaltech Wifi Booster (https://signaltechbooster.com/info-15.php?aff=1561&sub=MFRB_Signal_Tech&pub=&aux=&xcode=~c~yrXUJ3arPY7PHvADDHnx07cGRxqJMS2zDzfCD9ajvt5yCQ6PrTGqXRPWM4d4oxs_sBmcvhqOWgEt_xls2xNoX8Og830_K2yAyu4&ver=info 15 - Groundbreaking Device Exposes&aff_unique1=&aff_click_id). It talks about how ISPs throttle your WiFi, and plugging this in will speed it back up to normal and extend the range. I'm thinking it's a load of poop, but maybe someone here will know for sure.
  5. I upgraded my rig and I am having terrible lag in my games. I have been told that I need to reinstall windows. I don't have an external hard drive, so I am going to use window's installation media to reinstall windows 10 so that I can not loose all of my files and apps. The problem is that it stops near the beginning of the reinstall with an error: "0x8007001F-0x20006 the installation failed in the safe_os phase with an error during replicate oc operation". I've tried disabling all of my drivers, i've tried everything here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/error-0x8007001f-0x20006-the-installation-failed/718df714-78fc-45b9-b54d-d499a2ab3966 https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows I have an amd ryzen 3700x, x570 mobo, gtx 1080 ti, 16gb ram, 1 TB ssd samsung 860
  6. Well since I don't have another drive, I guess a free cloud storage? I have not touched a single one except Drop. That was 5 years ago or so. What would be a fast free cloud storage for me to put my essentials. I have a USB drive with the windows boot install media ready to go.
  7. Hey, I just changed my intel 7700k and z170 mobo for an amd 3700x and x570 mobo. I should be able to run my game at least as good as before. However, I get terribly slow or dropping frames in my games. After getting it set up, I installed (not uninstalled first) the latest nvidia drivers because I am using the same gtx 1080 ti that I was before, and I tried to get windows to update any updates that may have came out. Should I download windows 10 on a flash drive and dry to completely reinstall windows? I can't wipe everything, because I have a lot of things I want to keep. I have a 1 TB ssd samsung 870. And If I should reinstall windows, is there a way to not loose everything I have? I don't have an external drive or any other drives.
  8. Turns out, it was just a dead psu. I got a new one and it worked perfectly.
  9. After connecting an 8pin cord to the 8pin slot then pressing the power button, it no longer lit up like in the previous pictures. No lights cut on (besides the case itself). Also, the fans didn't spin at all like the 2 seconds they did before.
  10. May I ask where you think I should plug something up? I'm looking at the mobo user guide and I don't see where it says cpu. Is it this one? If so, do I plug up the 4 pin or the 8 pin?
  11. Hi. I had a problem with my last rig not posting after it took a less than 1 inch fall, so I got some new parts: Ryzen 7 3700x, X570 mobo, Fractal meshify c case, along with what I already had: Gtx 1080ti, Corsair vengeance 2x 16g memory, 1Tb ssd samsung 870. At first, I was getting no lights at all because I had the case's power switch in the wrong spot in the mobo, but now I (think) everything is in the right spot. So I put everything together and everything lit up and the fans spun for 2 seconds before stopping. There's also no post. I know some might think it's the gpu, but I did try directly connecting an HDMI to the mobo and the same thing happened. Can anyone figure out this conundrum? P.S. is a cpu supposed to have black gunk coming out of it? Also, the white stuff is thermal paste.
