  1. Thanks for the replies! Ok so I've changed out the mobo and I was looking at other PSU's. I found this one by EVGA and this one by Corsair which are much cheaper. They still quality components or should I be looking elsewhere? They're both 80+ Bronze which from what I understand should be good enough and they're both from reputable brands. I decided to keep the SSD the way it is - my game library is very small so I'm not so worried about running out of space. If I did need space for videos and such if I started streaming in the future, I'll pick up an HDD for sure for that. Everything else will fit comfortably with that 500GB based on my current setup.
  2. Hey all, I'm wanting to put together my first build and could use some help to making sure I'm on the right track. Goals: Have a decent PC to last me for a while - the most demanding game I'll be playing is Guild Wars 2. Ideally spend somewhere around $1200 CAD total (prefer to purchase from Amazon, Newegg, NCIX, Canada Computers). Hoping to cut costs where I can without hindering too much performance. Have the build potentially be able to stream in the future (not a requirement but if it's possible then it's welcomed). PCPartPicker part list CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ($286.98 @ DirectCanada) - I figured I would get something from this series as it's new. CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($37.75 @ Vuugo) - Definitely want to air cool and this is highly regarded for it at the price. Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($205.00 @ Vuugo) - This is my biggest ? It was the one I thought fit the build best but I feel like I may be overspending here. Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($89.99 @ NCIX) - I could bump this down to 8. This seemed to be a fairly popular brand. Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($189.99 @ Newegg Canada) - I'm not 100% sure on how the SSD/HDD setup works. If the games run off the HDD and the load times are based on the HDD speed, I'd rather just grab one SSD. If that's not how it works I'm open to alternatives. Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB SC GAMING Video Card ($354.99 @ Memory Express) - This is almost a guaranteed lock. I like what I've heard about EVGA and the 1060 sounds like the sweet spot for me. Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case ($149.99 @ Newegg Canada) - Another area where I feel I could cut some cost, but I do want a nice looking and practical case. Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($106.99 @ NCIX) Open to suggestions - went EVGA because of the good things I've heard about their PSUs. I also don't want to cheap out here. Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter ($39.99 @ NCIX) I believe this is needed with the motherboard I have selected right now. I would prefer to have the latest gen of wifi. Total: $1461.67 Thanks so much for any and all advice!
  3. I appreciate the advice; I definitely agree lifting weights is one of, if not the best ways to lose or gain weight, strength, cut etc. I've done it in the past with good results but I'm looking for an equipment free and cardio based alternative for right now. I have followed StrengthCamp for a while on YouTube. Elliot knows his stuff. Haven't checked out the other two though. Anyways, if anyone has tried it (more specifically the on demand service, not the programs themselves) any opinions you have from it are welcomed and appreciated.
  4. Title. I own P90X but I'd like to check out some of the other programs they have without spending the $120+ that most of the DVD sets go for. I haven't been able to find a review from a regular customer, just their coaches pushing the features of it. I did find a site dedicated to negative reviews and people talked about unauthorized transactions but there were less than 30 posts total so odds are that kind of stuff doesn't happen to everyone. And some of those could have been mistakes those commenters made without realizing etc. Anyone have experience with the on demand stuff from them?
  5. I just received my CMStorm Cherry switch test board (the little pad with 6 different switches on it) and I've been so excite to see what all the fuss about mechanical keyboards is about. I read somewhere (I think it was this forum or reddit) that typing on a membrane/rubber dome keyboard was like typing on mashed potatoes. I've been using these kinds of keyboards all my life and the one I currently have is plenty tactile and feels pretty good typing on it. Wow was I ever wrong! After one minute of pressing on the different switches on that CMStorm pad, I understand exactly what that person is saying! Now messing around with those there's no way I can keep using this keyboard; I need a mechanical keyboard asap and I can't see myself looking back. All of the switches feel amazing compared to my keyboard right now. However, I've narrowed it down to either reds, browns, or blues. I think I'm leaning toward browns the most at the moment. I love the bump when pressing it down. The reds are nice too, and I love the clicky blues, but I think the browns feel a little nicer than reds and the blues may be a little loud (especially since I'm usually up the latest at my house). I also just need to decide on a keyboard. I'm definitely going TKL. Some sort of LED would be nice; RGB would be ideal but I'm going to be watching the price tag. I have a few in mind but I think I'm going to do some research and then sleep on it. tl;dr I am new to the mechanical keyboard club and I am not looking back!
  6. Thanks for the comments I'd prefer this but it would bring me outside of my budget or lose the performance I need today going with something in the same price range. Ah yes I will, thank you. Yep I have an SSD ready to go. I'm potentially thinking about eventually getting a liquid cooler in there for the cpu. I'll have to make sure it'll fit the case though.
  7. Trying to piece together a best price/performance gaming/streaming pc at 1080p for less than $900CAD (primarily games like Path of Exile right now; I don't really play anything with intensive graphics). Here's what I've come up with so far (storage/OS not needed) PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($196.98 @ DirectCanada) Motherboard: MSI 970 GAMING ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($113.98 @ DirectCanada) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($84.98 @ Newegg Canada) Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB Tri-X Video Card ($364.95 @ Vuugo) Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case ($59.13 @ DirectCanada) Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($70.84 @ DirectCanada) Total: $890.86 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-01-06 10:54 EST-0500 Thoughts? It is an AMD build but I have no problem switching out parts for intel/nvidia variants. Just trying to find the best price/performance. Thanks =]

    Arozzi Chairs

Does anybody have any experience with any of their chair models? I haven't been able to find many reviews on them, especially in English. They look very stylish, comfortable (from pictures/YouTube) and they're decently less expensive than their competitors (DXRacer, NeedForSeat, GTOmega etc). What I'm wondering is how comfortable they are (especially after long periods of sitting) and if the build quality is sacrificed to bring the price down by the $100+ compared to the competition. Thanks LTT
  9. I'd use it in a streaming rig that I'm trying to put together and this is way more of a beast than what I have in mind now. Thanks LTT and Intel!
  10. Upgraded my budget to ~$1000 CAD. I think I found a sweet spot for this build. Thoughts? http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/RobyP/saved/swKkcf
  11. I've done some more research. It seems a number of streamers actually use two separate computers; one for just the gameplay and the other to process the streaming end of things. Would using my current (modded) MacBook Pro (specs are below) be sufficient enough for processing the streaming side of things (allowing me to build a decently performing gaming rig for the price)? MBP Specs Will that work or do I need either one solid build to handle everything or two decent builds? Thanks!
  12. Like I said I'm no expert, but can I not still use shadowplay with an amd chip? And the reason I went to amd over an intel was price/performance. Unless I'm missing something the research I did favoured the fx-8350 over any intel chip at the same price point.
  13. My build priorities have shifted. I'm looking to build a machine that could handle light gaming (Diablo 3 mostly, maybe Path of Exile) while being streamed on Twitch. Here is what I put together so far http://pcpartpicker.com/user/RobyP/saved/zB4J7P Some Criteria ~ $800 CAD (lower is better) Case must be a Corsair Air 540 or 240 (purely for aesthetics) I'd prefer an EVGA card if using nvidia and Sapphire if using amd. Not absolutely mandatory though Does not need to be overclockable Looking for the best $/performance I can manage. Thanks LTT!
  14. Hey LTT, By no means an expert with this but I put this build together and I'm hoping someone can suggest some improvements. Some criteria for the build: The lower the price the better. Not looking for an extreme budget but I definitely don't want to get much higher than what the build is at now ($1,100 CAD max) Black and red theme is a must The case is a must. I love the look and ventilation features Going to be used mostly for lighter gaming (Diablo 3 for example) and basic use (browsing) Lastly, I was wondering if this build has room to grow over the years. How likely will I be able to upgrade the parts inside down the road? Thanks!
  15. Thanks for the replies The Shure SE215's seem to be the favoured choice by many. I've also just discovered that UE 600vi's are on sale bringing them well within my price range. Anybody have any experience with those?
