  1. I’m trying to build my first pc, and did but have some problems. For the case power on switch and stuff there seems like there are supposed to be 4 cables, reset sw, power sw, hdd led, and power led. I don’t have power led though in this Thermaltake verse h18 case I’m using. Also, I have a weird connector I don’t see mentioned in the videos I checked. It doesn’t turn on and I’m thinking this might be why? Not sure though. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ntLXwz Parts list, ignore windows connector I’m confused about-
  2. Well, I'll try but I'm not sure. Plus some of these games/applications might not run right?
  3. I think he might be younger than you're imagining, more like just entering middle school
  4. I'll definitely try. Other than that though the parts seem fine?
  5. I know gpu's are rough right now but it seems like this older cpu is fine for the most part? The integrated graphics should be good enough I thought at least. Most of the other stuff seemed in stock as well. I know used would probably be good with the budget and stuff but the "client" here wouldn't be happy with that.
  6. Budget (including currency): Around $650 before tax Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Genshin Impact, Anno 1800, School Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 1080p 60-75hz This is the first time I've attempted to build a computer and wanted to make sure I'm not forgetting something or making some crucial mistake here. Actually not for myself, but my brother and so having something that doesn't require much tinkering when setup and being like a laptop connected to a monitor essentially is ideal. Already have most of the peripherals with the exception of a webcam, but that's not in the budget. I tried to come up with something in pcpartpicker with the help of an article (https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/best-500-pc-gaming-build/). https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ntLXwz I added windows because brother doesn't want a pirated/trial version. Motherboard was also changed to have one with wifi. It's not a ton of storage and if/when it runs out planning to add a hard drive. I also changed the ram a bit to a single stick because it was cheaper, but it's the same otherwise. Other than that it's the same as the article, but the article is a month old and I did change some stuff so just wanted to check in to see if anything's wrong before continuing. I'll continue to look for a better deal on the ram but other than that is everything decent for the price?
  7. So, I’m following a tutorial to make an alarm clock with a rasberrry pi zero w. https://howchoo.com/pi/how-to-make-a-raspberry-pi-smart-alarm-clock#create-the-alarm-script Right now, I’m trying to connect my screen to the pi and it isn’t working. I just wanted to know if anyone could diagnose an obvious problem. The specific LCD screen’s wiki: https://wiki.52pi.com/index.php?title=1602_Serial_LCD_Module_Display_SKU:Z-0234#How_to_program_it_on_Raspberry_Pi I was thinking it was the connection, or my soldering, but I don’t believe that’s it? I also did make sure I installed the right libraries and stuff, unfortunately no luck. I believe a number is supposed to show up for the second command, but none does.
  8. This is pretty much what it looks like, here it's google meet in another tab glitching into YouTube but it happens with really everything fullscreen (games, zoom, etc). I tried updating gpu drivers, switching to the studio drivers, updating all the drivers, updating windows, deleting programs, really nothing has worked. Does anyone have any clue why this happens. When I a fullscreen application open in the background and I tab out into chrome or something the elements of the fullscreen tab glitch in and out like this.
  9. My gpu and CPU look like they're doing pretty much no work, and I have a decently fast SSD I'm having it saved on. I don't believe they're thermal throttling. Do I need to change some settings or something to make it allocate more to Resolve idk
  10. I don't really know where to post this so I posted it here, hope that's fine
  11. My file is too big for free online converters and I couldn't find any good free ones that run locally. I need it to be in a file format DaVinchi Resolve will except. Not much loss would be appreciated. I'm not that knowledgable about scripts and stuff so that might be a problem if it's too complicated? BTW I unfortunately cannot re-record it. It's an MKV right now and and DaVinchi Resolve doesn't like that.
