  1. Thanks all for the replies! I’ve ordered a second HX1000 since I have 1day delivery and already requested a return of the faulty one. However when I put the new one in it also makes this sound a little bit quieter but still... Am I really that unlucky to get two faulty PSU’s in a row ? Or could there be another reason why ? @jonnyGURU @Corsair Nick
  2. Hello I’ve bought a new PSU today (Corsair HX1000) And after replacing my old one (Corsair RM750) I noticed that under load the PSU makes a terrible very loud screeching sound. At first I thought that maybe some cable got cought in the fan but no. It works very quiet until I put the PC under a lot of load (3DMark, cyberpunk etc) Here is a video with sound of what I’m trying to explain. Do I need to send it back or is there anything else I could do?
  3. I think I will go with a 850 for now since 1000W are not availabe anywhere. What do you think of EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G5, 80 Plus Gold 850W, Fully Modular, 10 Year Warranty, It decently prieced (£140)
  4. Yeah I was thinking of snatching a 1000W one however they are not availible anywehre (i'm from UK)
  5. As mentioned in the title I just managed to secure a 3090 FE and it should be coming next week (just in time for CP2077), I'm wondering if I need to upgrade my PSU now aswell. Currently I'm rocking Corsair RM 750X, and that's powering an OC'd i9-9900k (5ghz) with a 2080ti strix that will be replaced by the 3090. From What Nvidia is saying on their website a minimum PSU should be 750W but I'm not sure if that's taking into consideration an OC'd 9900k If it's good to upgrade, what PSU would you recomend?
  6. The drivers are the same, there are no background apps using the GPU (except the game it self) on either systems. And FPS in the game is basically the same
  7. Both while playing Apex, GPU idle at around 34c on both OS's. I did a thourough clean of files with CCleaner and that did not help. CPU: i9900k oc'd to 5ghz GPU: RTX 2080ti rog strix OC Both Windows versions are running "Balanced" power
  8. I recently installed a second version of windows on my PC to run some diagnostics and I noticed something very weird, while playing Apex Legends my CPU temps would be completely different on both versions of windows, on my day-to-day Windows temps can go to 73-74c and when Playing Apex on freshly installed windows the temps hardly go above 65c, both versions use the same drivers same fan curves, etc. I checked if there is nothing running in the background on day-to-day windows while playing and the only thing using the GPU is the game, also cheked for malware etc and found nothing. Any ideas why the temps could be so different?
  9. Do you remember by any chance what kind of sensor was faulty? Was it a temperature sensor ?
  10. This is awesome ! Thanks
  11. Thanks for this info! It definitely makes me more calm. When you talked to Asus what did you tell them so I can follow a similar conversation.
  12. I tried that gpu tweak fans control, and many many other fan controlling apps. None of them work. So you think it’s by design that a card sounds like a jet engine everytime I turn on a game ? And I can’t do anything about this? Not even bring the fans to 2600rpm instead of 3400? I will contact Asus on Monday
  13. You mean to update the vbios?
  14. Repaste is out of option since it still has over two years of warranty that I would prefer not to lose
