  1. Hey all. Chose this section of the forum because I wasn't sure where to put this, but if it's in the wrong spot just let me know. I'm looking for some cable raceways to hide my crimes wires in the living room (from console table up the wall to the TV) as well as for some hanging pendant lights i installed in my apartment (cable track will go from the outlet -> up the wall -> along the ceiling to the 1st light -> from the 1st light to the 2nd light). I know there are tons of offerings on Amazon, but are there any kinds of standard sizes? I'm hoping there is some system where I can order a bunch of the cable track with some fittings, but go back to buy just track / just fittings as needed around the house in the future. I see a TON of kits with track + connectors available, but ordering a new kit each time and letting a bunch of the unused connectors go to waste doesn't sit great with me. I could also just always go back and order from the same brand on Amazon, but most of the sellers I've found have company "names" that likely won't exist after a few months... you know the types. Looking to see what others have done - if I need to just bite the bullet and order one-off as needed, I can, but if there's some "ecosystem" of sorts where the tracks and connectors are readily available and work, that would be ideal. Thanks for your help!
  2. Yeah, I think I'm just going to go with the "resuse a PC i have sitting around" option. Not my favorite, since even mounting it under the table it'll take up so much space, but certainly the cheapest as of now I actually made a change in software choice, and the specs listed for the program I'll be using now (ArkenForge) just says "any dedicated GPU" is fine - not the most helpful, but it does seem to rule out all of the NUCs and NUC-like mini PCs available at the moment. If something with good enough onboard graphics shows up eventually, maybe I'll switch then and mount it to the table. For now, dedicated PC it is
  3. Good ideas all around! I actually did order a Minisforum PC for ~$120. It had some Celeron in it from Q4 2019 and Intel UHD600 graphics - the animated map stuttered like crazy, so I returned it. I did skim some of their other offerings but holding off since I have a 2070 machine I could use. It seems like most of the "gaming" laptops with a 1060 or better are going for at least $500, even if the screens are broken, on FB marketplace / eBay. Goodwill might have some hidden gems!
  4. Hey there - I recently got my D&D group back together, and ended up with an interesting problem to solve. I built a gaming table way back when during the pandemic, which as a 32" TV embedded in it. For a while, I was just loading static images of dungeon maps off of my laptop, which worked fine - but of course, the itch to improve was there. I started using Wildshape on Steam, which allows for 3D-style maps with animations, etc. Makes it much more lively than a static picture on the table while we play. The problem is that the game recommends a GTX 1060 or better for reasonable performance. I've been looking for a mini-pc with dedicated graphics, and without spending an arm and a leg, I haven't had much luck. Another option I considered was finding an older gaming laptop with a broken screen sold for cheap, since I only need the internals anyway - but these prices are also pretty high. Has anyone tried something like this before and had luck? I'm open to switching to a less intensive program, if need be, though something more than static images would be ideal. My last option is to tear apart an old rig I have and try and mount it to the underside of the table - I have a 2070 in there along with some intel server CPU that I can't remember right now - if anyone has a tutorial for mounting PC components to the underside of a table, that'd also be helpful! Thanks for any ideas and suggestions - open to discussion!
  5. Yeah I can try that. Using an aquacomputer High Flow Next for both
  6. I'm not 100% sure at the moment. I know it's maxed out (really no noise difference at max vs slower) and it ends up with 230 L/h flowrate.
  7. Gotcha. I can try switching that around next time I'm draining the loop and have everything easily accessible, if it becomes a huge issue immediately I may get to it sooner haha
  8. Top and bottom 360s are intake, pull configuration. Side is exhaust, push. All have 3 fans each. Even at max RPM on the uni fans (not sure what that is) it still gets pretty warm. Nothing's overclocked, which is annoying, wish I could but temps are already high. Loop order is pump -> top intake -> side exhaust -> CPU -> GPU -> Bottom intake -> pump. I did a lot of asking around & research before building, and others have the same config as me with no real detriment in terms of loop order
  9. I agree. Even at max fan RPM it doesnt help a whole lot...
  10. They should be getting fresh air. What do you mean by that though?
  11. Hey all. Asked this question a while back after my loop was new and just built - kinda in a panic. Now that I've been using it for a while and it's not having issues, I figured I'd ask again just to see what's out there. Build: 5950X (EK Monoblock on the ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero mobo) 3090 Strix OC (EK Waterblock + active backplate) EK D5 pump/res combo Lian Li O11-D XL --> Top/Bottom intake, side exhaust, 9 Lian Li Uni fans total 2x EK PE radiators (360) 1x EK SE radiator (360) My loop temperature tends to hang out around 40C when gaming. This is in the mid-atlantic US, and my room is ~70-75F (sorry for mixed units) ambient. Is this loop temp high for what I'm running? My GPU maxes at 55C under load, the CPU can reach high 75C + (depending on what sensor I'm reading, I know there is a lot of variation in them). Flow rate is maxed at 230L/h, according to my High Flow NXT from aquacomputers. If anyone has any thoughts, or even suggestions to improve temps, happy to hear them. When I game in summer and the room is hotter (like when I first built the loop) the water temperature was getting >45C and I was getting really worried.
  12. How do I ensure that the next one I buy from another brand won't have the same issue?
  13. Appreciate the help! I'll do so anyway, just to be safe. I'll also hit it with a BIOS update just for fun, but it sounds like new PSU is in the cards >_<
  14. Oooh ok gotcha. I'll give that a go. I don't use any onboard sound (I use a GoXLR) so would this still be a potential issue? Also, I know this is a really dumb question, but how would I uninstall the existing audio drivers haha?
  15. I have, but not at 2133. Still has sporadic issues. Good to know. This is the same PSU I had before upgrading to a 3090 and it was fine, but that makes sense. Is it all Seasonic, including the Prime Ultra (or whatever it's called?) If so, will just avoid them altogether haha. Gotcha. I'll probably stick with 1000W just to have overhead for the watercooling + RGB stuff, but from a better manufacturer then. Likely Corsair. I thought LTT was generally a fan of / recommended Seasonic's PSUs, am I just that out of the loop?
  16. Hey all. Title explains the issue. Here are my relevant specs though: CPU: Ryzen9 5950X MotherBoard: ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero (EK Monoblock) GPU: Strix 3090 OC (EK water block + active backplate) RAM: 64GB (4x16) Trident Z Neo @ 3600MHz PSU: Seasonic 1000W Prime Titanium I've recently started encountering random shutdowns when gaming - It can be after 2h or 20 minutes, seemingly at random. Sometimes during a graphics-heavy game doing nothing (GTA V black loading screen) and other times at a graphics-intense scene. I kept an eye on my temps during the latest shutdown event. The GPU was settled around 50C, and the CPU was in the mid to high 60s, peaking once at 71C (Tctl/Tdie in HWInfo64). Loop temperature was ~37C and the flow rate is maxed at 230L/h, I have 2 normal 360 rads from EK and 1 slim 360 rad from EK. 9 fans, 6 intake and 3 exhaust. My temps have never been ideal (due to current space constraints the PC lives under my desk, hardwood floor but definitely still feel the hot air being trapped down there). Regardless, these have been my temps for a while now, and the shutdowns just started. Someone suggested I try rolling back my graphics drivers, updating BIOS, and running the ram at 2133. None of these really helped my problem - they may have decreased the frequency of shutdowns, but it's already so sporadic it's hard to tell. All i know is that GTA V is definitely unplayable right now, as I can't get more than an hour of playtime before shutting down. I have been using this hardware for a while, and nothing was going wrong until recently. Someone mentioned that it might be my PSU, and that the Seasonic Primes are known to have had issues. Is this true? If so, what should I replace it with - I've been out of the PSU game for a while. Is 1000W sufficient, or if I need a replacement, should I up it?
  17. Gotcha. So are these temperatures not like absurd then, or do I still need to worry about it? and thanks for pointing that out! ...I read it about 5sec too late though, but now I know for next time!
  18. Gotcha. Might swap over then, though I still think the monoblock looks so good...
  19. That's fair. I just thought with 3 360 rads it would be enough, but maybe not.
  20. So you think if i switched off a monoblock to a regular CPU block it would get better? Would I see any performance issues not watercooling the VRMs?
  21. Filters are off, and it wasn't too much worse with the filters on. I tried bottom and side intake with top exhaust and didn't see much change.
  22. Hey everyone, here’s my setup: relevant specs— cpu: Ryzen 9 5950X gpu: 3090 Strix OC motherboard: Crosshair VIII dark hero case: O11-D XL (yep, basic I know!) Cooling— EK Crosshair VIII hero monoblock EK 3090 Strix full cover block EK 3090 Strix active backplate 2x EK 360 PE rads 1x EK 360 SE rad 9x LianLi UniFan AL120 (top/bottom are intake, pull, and side is exhaust, push) after running OCCT on power mode for 30 min, I get the following: CPU=67C GPU=60C water=43C ambient=28C. this is with fans and pump maxed. from what I have read online, these coolant temps are getting pretty high up there. When gaming in light games (like rocket league) for ~2h, it sometimes crosses 45C. anyone know what could be causing high coolant temps?
