  1. Okay, so I updated my picks according to your comments (see below). I gone with the MPG Z490 Gaming Edge WiFi instead of the Vision G because paying the extra money for nearly the looks only (given I don't really need more USB ports or better audio, my bad speakers will profit from neither) is not worth it I think. Especially I don't really like the purple accent on the board… Additionally, I changed my RAM from the Trident Z RGB to the Ripjaws V which have the same specifications and cost a lot less (at least at German retailers). I'll maybe add some RGB strips to the inside of the case to light it up so I can see the components. I shifted the released money to higher quality SSDs (the ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro) as I think cheaping out on that points is not worth it, especially if I can move the money from somewhere else. Thank you all @Mateyyy, @TofuHaroto and @lee32uk! 2. Okay, thank you Then I have to decide whether I'm willing to pay more for the aesthetic, the Vision G is around 30€ more expensive at German retailers… Oh, I didn't saw it's DRAM less… Thank you again! I went with two SSDs because I want to install Linux on one and Windows on the other and I don't have the nerve to fiddle around with partitions, especially as the Windows installer is kinda uncontrollable… For the power supply, I've entered everything into https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator with an RTX 2080 Super as the reference card for the upcoming Ampere cards and it spit out an 850W PSU for 80+ efficiency. Thanks for pointing that out to both of you
  3. Hello everyone, I am currently picking parts for a new PC that should use Intels 10th Gen processors, or namely the Intel Core i7-10700K. I maybe want to do a bit of overclocking, so I'll go with a Z490 chipset. Initially I choose the ASUS TUF Gaming Z490-Plus because a) I like ASUS motherboard and b) it has all the front panel connectors I need (I will build in the be quiet! Dark Base 700, hence I need 1x USB-C 3.1, 2x USB-A 3.0 and audio headers). I'll go with RGB RAM (G.Skill Trident Z RGB) and plan to do a mostly black setup with white accents and use the RGB lightning for more white accents. I stumbled on the (approx. $20 more expensive) ASUS Prime Z490-A which has white accents I really like. To the question: I am a bit confused about the motherboard series ASUS offers and I don't really know much about good/bad/whatever VRM and MOSFET configurations (the Prime board has one VRM phase more then the TUF board, but the MOSFETs are just 45A vs. 50A). Is this difference negligible with respect to overclocking? That is, may I have problems when going with the Prime over the TUF board or is it really just a design decision? Thank you in advance, Fabian PS: I will wait for the RTX 3000 series before buying anything, but I hope on the rest of the market things stay roughly the same until that.
