  1. I left my computer idle for awhile I came back to it and was able to tool around in the drive for a bit. Seemed to be working fine, but after a few minutes it went back to 100% usage and has stayed there. Again no data transfers, pegged at 100% every 20-30 seconds dips to no usage for a few moments in that window it functions normally then goes back to 100% usage.
  2. Says were all good. The few moments in the dips of 100% usage it works perfectly fine. Transfers at proper speed and no data is incomplete/corrupted when moved to other drives.
  3. So I have 3 storage devices, 1 SSD for boot and 2 1 TB hard drives for game storage. Everything has been running fine but all of a sudden one of my hard drives has started to degrade in performance. Games would barely load and crash and I could explore the files in it but once I tried to move something or make a change the file explorer would crash (Making a new folder would crash it). Ran a defrag and stuff and still has the problems. Looked at the performance tab, and says it's at 100% usage all the time without any data transfer rates. Note my other 2 drives have no real activity (C is SSD D is other HDD) And at certain intervals as you see in the first pic the usage would drop to 0% and a small transfer occurs. I started to try and pull warframe off of that drive and onto the other since it was really the only game on that drive that I play. And around these intervals is when it would transfer data for warframe. You can see that the usage dips to normal levels when it transfers. And when it does transfer it transfers at normal speeds. Is my drive dying or are there some other shenanigans abound?
  4. This is just the most frustrating thing ever to me. Over the course of like fucking 8 years valve went from poster boy of PC gaming to the biggest joke in PC gaming. A fucking shell of their former selves who only claim to fame is having THE SINGLE WORST distribution service on the market that is only popular because everyone is too lazy to switch from it. Like no one cares if the game is amazing no one cares if it's original no one cares if its everything we hoped for. Half life is so inherently integral to PC gaming culture it DESERVES to be made. It's like our fucking bible or something and they just shrug their fucking shoulders and say "Eh it won't meet expectations so why try." Mother fucker our expectations is a game, just a fucking functioning game. Just, they can't realize that they didn't only make a fun game. They made a calling card, a hallmark for PC gaming. Half-life means something more to us than just a pretty good game. It means something more than the video game industry. It really is our cultural icon. It's our Star Wars our Harry Potter our Macbeth. And to sit there and say that isn't worth their effort proves their are cynical money grubbing shells of their former selves at worst. Or too stupid to realize what they should be doing at best.
  5. Okay got it working brought it to friends house and he had a kit of trident Z DDR4 that got the system posting then were able to flash the newer BIOS and got it working with the Hyper X kit. Guessing it kept rebooting cause it just couldn't recognize there was any RAM due to the BIOS being out of date? Not sure, but it's been stable and we looking good. Glad it wasn't any DoA parts. Thanks for the suggestions! Cautionary tale doubly check Mobo manufacturers BIOS/RAM compatibility lists before you purchase : P
  6. He didn't have this exact issue no and yeah it just keeps rebooting non stop. I'll double check standoffs and bring my stuff over to his place to trouble shoot everything part by part.
  7. I had an old HD 6000 series GPU lying around that had an analog display out that I put in there but still no dice. I've swapped RAM, unplugged/plugged in my storage drives. Plugged in an old GPU that I know works. Tried Clearing the CMOS. I waited a bit on the first boot as well. But besides that now on top of not giving a display it keeps restarting every 15-20 seconds or so.
  8. Know any good guides that I can try to follow along with or do I just need to wing it?
  9. Title says it all. I got a new ryzen processor and i'm not getting a post. Friend had a similar issue but was able to resolve it by putting his GPU in his 8x slot and use a DVI cable. I can't do the first since it's a single slot M-ATX board and I can't do the latter since I don't have a VGA-DVI adapter to connect to the VGA adapter on my Monitor. So any way to update the BIOS to solve the issue without a display via a USB drive?
  10. I have a moto e 2nd gen that never got it's data shut off (I've had free 4G for almost 2 years don't know how) and i'm staying at a place with no internet. I was wondering what signal it is AC/N etc. So I can get an internal wireless card to connect to the hotspot.
  11. Was watching youtube videos with ear buds on. Was snuggled up in a felt blanket a dragged it across the surface of the blanket literally like 2 inches when over the earbuds i heard a crackling noise. Computer locked up and blue screened. Started it back up and it won't play sound through any ear buds or headphones i plug in. Windows recognizes that sound is coming through and disables the speakers but it just doesn't make any noise. Tried reinstalling audio dirvers didn't work. Didn't find anyone else with this problem on forums and stuff. I really really doubt that it could have gained enough of a static charge to not only pass through the body of the laptop, and the only venting on the bottom is 2 small grated exhast ports tht have a fan and plastic shrouds beneath them, but also fry something on the mother board...
  12. Nvm my girlfriends art tablet pen was pressing against the tablet surface and making the mouse drag to the right haha
  13. different ports and different mice don't help : /
