  1. Yeah I've been thinking about cooling a lot, so I didn't do any overclocking with my 7600k and managed to get away with my hyper 212 Evo, but I KNOW I won't be able too anymore. So I'm considering something like a noctua Dh-15, though my case is pretty small Corsair 100R, with the hyper 212 being pretty tight as far as clearance against the side panel, I'm thinking to be safe clearance wise best to upgrade to a bigger case like a 4000D, only reason I'm not opting for water cooling is because I don't typically do much overclocking because it intimidates me LOL, although I'll probably look into learning how to actually do it if I go forward with the 13600kf, as for why I got a 7600k and am looking at a KF now is simply because all the deals and bundles usually feature K or KF. One more thing, upgrading the platform and replacing the CPU of course is going to be big.... but what could I expect performance wise going from 16gigs of slow 2400MHZ ram vs 32gb of 6000MHz, maybe slight fps gain and way less stuttering? Again thanks for replying and helping!
  2. https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=&item_id=249785 This is a decent pricing for this bundle right? about 500USD, and as far as the parts they seem good to me but I just thought I'd ask
  3. I definitely think I have been convinced to swap the platform first! It also gives GPU prices a chance to *potentially* drop a bit for when I do plan on upgrading the rest later this year
  4. I think This would make more sense for my situation if I was planning on keeping my 1080 for the future, though since I want to basically fully upgrade the system before the end of 2024 , if I were to make partial upgrades to it now I would go for something with a bit more performance /that would do a bit better in the future like AM5 ryzen platform or 13/14th gen i5/i7 with like 32GB of DDR5 memory. As far as my current situation goes I think I have come to the conclusion Im probably best off slapping a 4070 in with it until I can get a 13700k or 14700k / 7800x3d or something like that to pair with it
  5. ...I may just have to bite the bullet. I have a couple weeks off before my classes start so that could be fun! It might drive me a bit insane knowing how much power is just asleep in the card but it won't be long before shes a singin' along some 14th Gen i7 or an AM5 ryzen build :Dd Lastly, the price jump from 4070 to 4070TI is a tad bit harsh here, Im wondering if the 4070 just might be better value overall, especially if I plan on mainly playing at 1440p144 for basically probably the next ~5 years. To jump from a Ventus 4070 to a Ventus 4070ti is $325CAD (£192) total for the 4070 w/ tax coming to $874CAD (£517) total for the 4070ti w/ tax coming to $1241CAD (£735) So looking at a $367CAD (£217) Spike total to make the jump. Based on these numbers / my monitor specs would you still urge me to get a 4070TI? If the value is there overall then I will do it but I am curious again to hear what you think.
  6. I do like the sound of that, Dealing with some stuttering still would be expected but the overall experience north of 60 would be nice until I can plunk in a new CPU with juicy DDR5. There is a decent sale going on now with boxing week stuff atleast in NA, I can see an MSI Ventus 4070TI on sale for 1,099CAD which is about 650 pounds, this isn't completely unreasonable for me. Is that a good price considering its about $80CAD off? Just wondering if with the sales on currently it might be equivalent to what the prices will drop to post super release?
  7. So I am currently running at 1440p, as of course back in 2016 the 1080 was perfectly great for 1440p gaming but now its just struggling to keep up, definitely liking the idea of waiting for the supers to drop to get a better idea of pricing, I didn't even know super's were coming out. I have a lot of questions regarding them and whether or not they're worth over just going with something already out like as you said a 4070TI. but I suppose we don't know this stuff yet do we? Ill have to look into them though for sure. I guess an easy way to look at it value wise for me currently would be something like, If upgrading to that better GPU now meant I would be holding at least a solid 60 fps at 2560 x 1440 as opposed to the situation now where it can dip into the 40s I think I would go for it? The system would be completely unbalanced of course with much of the cards power being left off the table due to CPU constraints but it would just be temporary. Otherwise I don't think I'd deem it worth spending ~1k for like negligible gains and would hold off and wait for my situation to allow me to upgrade the system in full tbh. Again I really appreciate the help here !
  8. That's definitely an idea, I wonder though. If that's the best option would it honestly just make more sense for me to just wait until I am in a situation to make all the changes at once? The only reason I would do partial upgrades now is if either route would lead to better in game performance until I can do the rest, so I guess how much of a difference would having improved lows be realistically, currently in the most intense areas of the game im playing I can see frames dropping into the 40s, would improved lows mean that I am seeing less dips into that range? Otherwise I think I would just hold off. Out of curiosity though...what would it look if I were to throw in a 4070 or something with the older CPU? Thanks for your reply, cheers!
  9. Budget (including currency): ~1100CAD / ~825USD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: intensive PC gaming i.e s.t.a.l.k.e.r Anomaly Gamma / AAA titles Other details : SPECS: 7th gen I5 (7600K), MSI GTX 1080, Z270P-D3 motherboard, 16 Gigs of DDR4 @ 2400MHZ, and a 1TB Samsung 860 evo, using a 2560x1440p 144HZ monitor So the situation is this, realistically I want to upgrade everything in the system but I am starting college in January and so at this current moment in time I am faced with 2 realistic options budget wise that I can do: either swap out the CPU/mobo/ram, or go for a GPU upgrade, either is roughly going to cost around the same. At first I thought my CPU was by far the weakest link but actually recently testing utilization in S.T.A.L.K.E.R gamma and noticed my 1080 was pinned at 100% with the CPU cores ranging from 60-80% utilization, So given this I decided maybe going the other way would make more sense, atleast for the games I am currently playing. So that brings me here, I am here to find out from you guys if I would see any performance gains with my current situation swapping out the 1080 for something like a 4070 while keeping the CPU/mobo/ram setup I have until I can upgrade everything else, and if I were to see a improvement is there anything I would have to think about as far as compatibility goes using a newer GPU with an older platform, I would most likely have to upgrade my CX750M power supply to something that can support the pin connection depending whether the 4070 model uses 8 or 16 pin I think, anyways just looking for clarity regarding this situation and advice. Appreciate any and all help
  10. Right thats the thing though is there wouldnt be any hardware from long long long ago, this issue wasnt happening before a factory reset a week ago and then it started happening a few days after the reset, I would've only downloaded essential programs that I know have worked without issue in the past, just why it confuses me
  11. Yeah I tried to see if it was synapse messing with it, doesent seem like it, really dont know what it could be at this point only thing im thinking could help is a potential factory reset of windows settings. Frustrating cause I had to do that just a week or so ago:( Cant escape tech issues no matter what
  12. I was already able to confirm it was not an issue with my keyboard because I plugged another keyboard in and once again the only key not working was the zero key.
  13. I should also mention ive taken most of the normal precautions, tried other keyboards, deleted drivers + restarted. disabled mouse keys, just about anything I could try
  14. When I opened that microsoft software it just told me there was no detected device and to swap usb ports and yet still no dice.
  15. Negative on the closing synapse does not work
