Hey I got to work with my system! All I did was switch to an HDMI cable, even though Display Port is HDCP capable, but wasn't working for some reason. Switched my display settings so that the picture only showed on the 4K monitor (was originally set up for dual displays) and it worked. I guess if I choose "extend these displays" for two monitors in the settings, it won't work. I have to use ONLY the 4K display. I'm 100% positive that I have tried this before when I was troubleshooting a while back and it didn't work then, but it works now. Only Netflix though. YouTube has always had 4k for me. Vudu still does not work, but according to their 4k device list..it should work on Windows 10, so I'm still in the dark on that one. Amazon Prime Video does not support 4k playback on Windows 10 either.

Yeah I'm not sure. I've given up at this point. UHD should be available with Windows 10 and the right hardware so I must have something wrong, or they are just straight up lying.

Hmm. So I wonder if the reps at VUDU were right all along? Maybe I do actually need to have and HDR capable screen to view the 4k content. That still doesn't explain why I can on my Xbox though. I use that on the same monitor.

So is the monitor that you used to test HDR then or no?

See that's the problem. It's supposed to say Ultra HD 4K when it's available, otherwise it says just HD. If you press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+D it will bring up a bunch of stats and you can see the quality it is streaming in. On my monitor it only says 1080p, even though I'm on a 4K display. I do have a 4k Tv that I could try, but I can see from your screenshots that it would most likely play in 4K. But I'm trying to get it to play 4K on my monitor. So I don't know what is blocking my display from the 4K content. Also, does your Tv support HDR? Just out of curiosity.

That's weird if they're limiting streaming quality on Windows 10 and not Xbox because I can stream 4K on the Xbox. I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but I contacted VUDU support a while back because I can't stream 4K on their website either, and Windows 10 is actually a supported device on VUDU as long as you have the right specs. They said in the email that my display needs to be HDR capable also as well as 4K. They may have just said that to get me out of their emails but I really don't know if that would even matter. I also watch VUDU in 4K on my Xbox as well. On a display that isn't HDR capable.

Should have put that in description. I have 400 Mb/s from Charter Spectrum, so unless Netflix just isn't allowing me to view it, I wouldn't imagine it's my service.

Yes I have the the plan that allows me to view UHD. I can view UHD on my Xbox One, but I don't want to hook that up if I don't have to lol

I did some research and I guess I didn't see anywhere where it says it isn't. Maybe I didn't look hard enough?

So I have a 4K, HDCP ready, non-HDR monitor (see in specs), but I cannot for some reason, view UHD content on the Netflix app in Windows 10, or on any browser including Edge. I can view UHD on Youtube just fine. I checked to make sure I had the monitor in 4K resolution and that I had the right Netflix plan to view UHD. I checked Nvidia control panel and made sure my display was HDCP ready. It's a 60hz display and I am using a display port cable. I also hit ctrl+shift+alt+d to bring up the streaming information while watching a UHD title on Netflix and it says I am only streaming in 1080p. I have absolutely no idea why this is not working because it seems like I have all the right specifications (see below) to stream in UHD. I have two displays set up right now and have tried disconnecting the 1440p display and using only the 4K one to no avail. -System specifications- Intel i9-9900k @ 5 Ghz Asus Maximus Hero 2x GTX 1080 FE in SLI configuration 16Gb Corsair RAM @ 3200 Mhz EVGA 1000w PSU -Storage- 1Tb Samsung Evo NVMe SSD 250Gb Samsung Evo 2.5in SSD 2Tb Seagate SSHD -Displays- Samsung U32R59x UHD @ 60 hz AOC Agon AG271QG4 1440p @ 144 hz
