  1. Hey @NickHeavy, it was mentioned in other posts that you guys might share the files for the back plate. I recently inherited four Mac Pros (three 3,1 and one 5,1). I'd like to turn two of them into high-end PCs. Can you tell me where I might find the back plate plans that you guys used?
  2. I built one 11 months ago and love it. I haven't had a single issue. I submerged the PSU. I don't have a mechanical drive. One tip: keep the rear IO just above the oil level or else the oil will wick up some of the cables. I adjusted mine so they're about 1/8" above the oil.
  3. I built one with old parts I couldn't get rid of -- an i7-2600K, P8P67 Deluxe, and two XFX R7800's. I threw in a cheap PNY 500GB SSD, an old EVGA 500W PSU, and two cheap 80mm fans to move the oil around. It's all in a 10 gallon aquarium. I also hooked up an ESP8266 to an 8x8 LED Matrix powered by one of the USB headers and put them behind the board so the light show shines around the board. Even without a radiator cooling the oil, I've had had absolutely no problems with it for the past 11 months. If my son plays any of his games (Fortnite, etc.) for more than an hour or two the CPU and oil reach the low to mid 70s. My son wants to replace the 2600k with a 3770k and the GPUs with a R9 390 from another old system. if we do, I'm probably going to have to find a way to cool the oil. It's an awesome conversation piece. Everyone who comes over is amazed by it. I love it.
