  1. I was able to boot to the Windows setup program from a USB stick to try and repair from there but my mouse and keyboard still shut off so I can move around. I don't have one, but would a touch screen allow me to do this?
  2. I'm giving that a try as we speak. I tried to have it fail to boot 3 times to get to the automatic repair to get to safe mode but I still couldn't use my mouse and keyboard then. I also can't get the shift+restart option to work for the same reasons. I'm gonna try and make a USB stick to boot from, however the last time I tried doing that I messed up my boot pretty bad.
  3. Hello everyone. First post here so sorry if it's in the wrong place. This is also copy and pasted from another forum I posted on so apologies if someone is googling this and seeing similarities. I'm having issues with my computer that I built. It's probably around 3 years old and I'm running an MSI Z97 mobo, I7 4790k and 16 GB of RAM. Originally, I had an issue with it looping at boot but found out it was a bad stick of ram. I replaced that and am able to get to the Windows login screen. The issue I have now is that my keyboard and mouse will have power when I turn it on but will then lose all power after POST so I can't log in. I've tried hooking the mouse and keyboard up to different computers and they work. I've also tried every combination of USB port on my computer with all the same results. If I turn my computer on and off the same thing will happen but if I hit the reset button it will not. I've tried replacing the CMOS battery with no help. I've also tried to set different options in my BIOS with little no success (such as enabling the USB ports). One time I royally screwed up my computer when messing around with options. I've also seen a lot of stuff on different forums with similar issues of logging in to go to an older version of Windows but my issue is that I can't log in to get to that option. The last time I turned this thing on and used it was probably last year sometime when the problems started up and I got frustrated and stopped using it. I'm fully aware that my computer is kind of old and if the best option is to just build a new one I get that, I just don't want to spend that money if I don't have to. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks!
