Thanks for your input. I think I'll do that and see how 32GB serves my rendering needs before I decide to go crazy on the memory

I currently have 16 gigs of RAM in a 2x8 dual channel setup and am considering upgrading. I would like to buy one 16GB stick now and another later in order to leave some room for future upgrades. My big question, therefore, is whether I can use the 16 gig RAM with my current 2x8 if I match the brand and speeds for a total of 32 gigs while I wait to buy the other module. P.s. first time poster, not sure if this is the right way to ask a question
