As long as it doesn't cut through any traces on the PCB, it would be fine. It could cause issues with your mobo pci-e connector, but I doubt it.

I am not sure about the GPU though, any recommendations? In the UK, the prices are very high due to COVID, So I need something reasonable. Should I use my existing PSU, or would it not be enough for my parts? And would it be able to play AAA games at 1440p with reasonable frame rates?
