  1. Alright, thanks for that, it looks like my mount will probably work then.
  2. Is there a way I can tell if the one I have supports multiple tv's?
  3. I have a mount on my wall that my brother installed about 6 or 7 years ago and it currently has a 300x300 49" tv mounted to it. I don't know anything about the mount and don't have the box and my brother doesn't remember either. I want to buy a 400x300 65" tv, is it reasonable to assume or is there any way I can tell that my mount will work for the new tv (preferably without taking the current one off)?
  4. I find headphones fairly uncomfortable, I don't like the pressure on the sides of my head. Plus I'll wanna be slobbing it up alot of the time when I'm using them (super reclined back, pillow etc), I imagine bulky headphones being annoying for that.
  5. Looking for some help with recommendations, super in the dark as I've never used earbuds before. I'm looking for a pair to watch movies/youtube/netflix etc, or for gaming, late at night. Spent the last week or so looking around, which has been difficulty as a newbie as theres so so many and reviews are always phone focused. They'll be connected to my PC, which would be about 3m away. Main concerns are latency/connection stability and comfort (and the cheaper the better too).
  6. Hi all, Will be moving away from my fiber connection (very painful) to a rural property in a few months. Needless to say, available connections there are awful except for Starlink, which we will probably be going with. The issue is we will have two houses about 20-30m apart and both need strong internet. Getting two Starlink connections is way too costly (and overkill), so I've been trying to find a way to get it to both houses, and using two outdoor ap's (or whatever they're called) to create a point to point wifi bridge seems to be the best option. The problem is, networking setup and device knowledge in my family is pretty much zero. I spent half of yesterday trying to get a simple overview of what I need, but that has been surprisngly difficult. Most of the guides I've seen (that claim to be about my very issue) have pretty much focused solely on the p2p units themselves, connecting them directly to laptops etc. and mainly go into how to configure them and their performance. What I need to know at this stage is what exactly besides these units do I need, to set up a wifi network spread between two buildings and how should it all be connected. This and also any product recommendations would much appreciated, especially for whatever is the simplest to understand and set up.
  7. Ah I see. Yea, after doing some more research, I think I like the Phanteks the best out of the three. Found two cheaper options that seem ok - the MSI MAG Forge 100R and the Deepcool Matrexx 50 ADD-RGB. I am a bit dubious on them as I haven't found any reliable info yet (and I've gotten the impression that msi cases leave alot to be desired), if anyone has any experience with either.
  8. I see everyone has been avoiding that, any reason why?
  9. Unfortunatly I can't get those where I live.
  10. Should I not? I've always thought a cheap case would be a bad idea. Incase you missed it, those prices are NZD btw. Cheapest case I could get would be around $90 NZD with no fans.
  11. Currently getting a budget build done and am trying to decide on which to get between these mid-tower cases: Phanteks Eclipse P360A ($140 NZD) Corsair Carbide 275R Airflow Tempered Glass ($150 NZD) Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh RGB Tempered Glass ($180 NZD) I've pushed my budget pretty tight and would like to get away with only using the stock coolers. My focus is on quiet (and easy to clean). Personally, I'm leaning towards the corsair carbide, would love opinions/experience.
  12. Alright. From what I can gather, it's not really worth waiting on DDR5, now I just need to have a think on weather its really worth it to build new or fix up my old system. I sent the same question about the ram back to them before I posted on here, they offered me G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 instead for no price difference. From what I can gather theres not much difference, but I'll take opinions.
  13. Its sort of up in the air, even though I'm pretty sure I have a PSU thats going bad, I'm not fully certain thats the problem. Its possible I could chance it and wait and be able to upgrade later without issue and sell my old system then, or it could go wrong. Or I could just get it looked at/replaced. I realize this is probably a hard question to really answer, but is it likely I could get a similar powered build and price when ddr5 is a thing?
  14. So there would be nothing wrong with that ram then? And it should be quiet? I just talked to a friend of mine about it, is it worth waiting for DD5 to be a thing, or not really?
  15. Budget (including currency): $1400-1600 NZD Country: New Zealand Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Web browsing, watching video/streams, some gaming, will be on 24/7, 365. Used to game mostly on PC but have decided to mostly use consoles where I can, would still like my PC to be decent for when its infeasible or more convenient than a console. Other details: My current system serves me well (its an i5-4670k and has an RTX 2070 in it which I will just be swapping into the new build), but its fairly old, and I believe the PSU is failing. I considered just taking it in to get looked at/cleaned and the PSU replaced (if that is indeed the problem), but I also thought if I can just get a cheap enough new build, might wanna do that instead, so I went to where I usually get systems built and they quoted me the system below for $1410 NZD (includes Win 10 and labour). Intel Rocket Lake Core i5-11400F ASUS PRIME B560 PLUS Corsair CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16 Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Designed for AMD Ryzen Seagate Barracuda 510 250GB PCIe NVMe SSD Corsair Carbide 175R RGB Tempered Glass Mid-Tower Case Silverstone ST65F-GS 650W Full Modular 80Plus Gold Power Supply Is this system worth it for what I want? Are there any parts that are kind of crappy? Is it going to run well? My current system has a large heatsink and noctua fan which I've noticed is missing from this quote. One thing I requested was that the system run fairly quite/silent when idle/browsing/watch video, will this be the case? Another concern I had was the power supply, I've never had a Silverstone before, is it going to be reliable? Oh also, its been a quite a while since I've done anything like this, but ram being designated as for team red/blue is new to me, is that going to be a probem? Thanks.
