  1. I have a CenturyLink modem/router hybrid that I've been using and I need help hooking up a router that is supposed to work according to CL support but is not. Their Tech Support is closed atm, and I need help setting it up. The CL modem hybrid is the Zytech model C3000z. The router is a TP-Link Archer AX1500. The modem hybrid is next to my phone wall port, while the router is connected to a ethrnet cord in another room. This cord was one that runs outside connecting it via wall ethernet port that I have used before but never with a router or modem. Here is a tech diagram to help explain: MH= CL hybrid, R= Router TP Link, EM= Outside ethernet, ET= Ethernet cable Cat6 C1= Xbox Series X gaming console. C2= PS5 console, EP: Ethernet port with number What has worked in past before: MH-->EM6-->ET1-->>C1 or C2 What I want to do& need help with: MH--> EM--> ET1-->R -->R--> ET2 at EP1-->C1 -->R-->ET3 at EP2-->C2 So basically I don't want to keep switching the one ethernet cord back and forth between the 2 consoles and bc I have 1 cord I wanted to hook it up to a router that will use that cord and then add 2 ethernet cords to the router ports for my ps5 and Xbox series x to use without switching So what I need is now that the cables are in place- like the technical example above, I need to know how to setup the modem settings via its admin site. And if the WAN/LAN ports need to be used on either or both router and hybrid modem?
  2. My friend is having serious thermal and performance issues with his 1 year old PS4 PRO after he followed this video on YouTube to boost its performance. He said it was working fine before, and now it can't run unless there is ice cold airflow. Can someone help him out? I'm sending this post link to him, since I'm the tech geek that he knows but he wants me to reach out bc I'm not 100% sure redoing the performance boost in the video will fix his machine. From my research its a 50-50 chance it'll fix it or completely brick his machine. Video:
  3. Edit: I used pcpartpicker website to confirm components and case will work but just wanted to get a eta on if my gpu will be out of date in <1year and whether or not my psu will need to be upgraded prior to build completion... the psu which hasn't been used since 2019 and was already replaced back in 2018 Edit 2: This is my first Raytracing pc and I plan to use it for streaming my Xbox series x & xbox one, specifically if I decide to focus less on editing content and more on live platforms. My pc died and need a new build asap, I'm planning to upgrade to new gpu once fall ones debuted, but this is my first true build that I'm having a friend who I trust put together for me. I've always had trouble with air fans on other prebuilt systems so I was going to see how this coolor worked in conjunction with 3 smaller fans. Bc the fans in cyberpower case was the best. The PSU in the cyberpower unit is 500, the pc part picker website said it would be around 450-480. I do not plan on overlooking at all for any reason. Budget (including currency): $1,500 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 40% creative (Adobe cc Master 30%,Autodesk 10%), 30% (max settings for 1080 HD display) on new FPS & RPG titles, & 30% streaming (15% xbox one x, 15%pc) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Regular fans and a premium $10 thermal paste CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER RAM: Corsair vengeance 4x16GB = 64GB 3600ghz CPU COOLER: Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 240 AIO CPU Liquid Cooler MOTHERBOARD: ASUS TUF GAMING X-570 plus Wi-Fi AM4 socket motherboard Already owned but moving to this build: CAPTURE CARD: 4k60 mk.2 pro elgato 1TB SSD 4TB HDD Older refurbished cyberpower CASE w/ original CP prebuild power supply: Raidmax Viper 2 My Cyberpower pc was bought from best buy from 2015 and I'm only keeping fans, and PSU aside from the case. The capture card is not from this system but from a newer one.
