    I would check if any of the following matters to you, because its very much lacking in the G14:
    1. Webcam - None
    2. Home/End/PgUp/PgDown - None
    3.Brightness Display - 330 nits, I am not sure it can sustain your eyes reading a lot of code/material for a long period of time... but i could be wrong. you will have to ask some owners who are also programming
