  1. Yep, there from my blog. All the arduino code and the window application, binaries and source code are on my blog also. It supersedes the project I posted below on LTT from a few years back. Heres something you won't see on my blog yet
  2. After a recent purchase of a Nvidia GTX1080 graphics card, 4k monitor plus Doom. I thought it would be great to see some external telemetry... from my expensive purchase. Tiny 0.96" OLED display (hence "Gnat-Stats) The SerialSender application uses the open source OpenHardwareMonitorLib.dll to sniff the sensors of most modern dedicated PC graphics, CPU and motherboards whilst, also pooling windows hardware stats. Lego for Scale Very Experimental!!!
  3. People forget how higher refresh rate 120/144hz make the whole windows experience better, not just in game, everything is smoother . Drag a windows round on a 60hz monitor then do it on a 120/144hz monitor. If you go with a 4k monitor your not going to achieve higher constant frame rates so you can trade off the higher refresh rates some what but a G-Sync 60hz 4k monitor would be a plus as if will smooth out some of the demands of pushing all those pixels if you are in its target range. SLI wont get you out of the shit in all games and I don't know if micro stutter is a thing of the past yet ?
  4. Take the ends off a Cotton bud then slip it down the Pin, It works great

  6. Heres the Project Page http://runawaybrainz.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/arduino-lcd-smartie-oled-project.html
  7. The whole point of 120/144hz is not just for 3D frame rates, a lot of the benefits come when just using it for 2D work. Its worth buying 120hz just for 2d work alone.
  8. Sure there is 1) Drill CPU Heatsink 2) Insert Meat Thermometer (LOL to yourself) 3) Install side panel windows 4) Add Neon light 5) Report back with pictures  6) Visit here http://www.diylife.com/2008/02/02/show-pc-stats-on-analog-gauges/
  9. Yes I was thinking of making a bay for it. I think you could shoe horn a 20x2 display in a single front slot. As it is USB, it may be more useful with a 20X4 display in a small standalone enclosure on the desk, as this makes it a lot more visible than on the front of a Case. Also this makes it a portable tool for testing other PC Builds Here a pic of my Previous LCD enclosure
  10. Hi Guys, Just finished my LCD Smartie mod, using an Arduino and a OLED 16x2 character Display to show live PC Stats ETC. You can see here how the OLED has amazing viewing angles compared to LCD Here is a larger 20x4 character display
  11. Here's a way to extend them all so. DIY SATA Extension Adaptor
