  1. Here's a build I put together based on everyones suggestions. I'm fully aware that the PSU is overkill and the case is much more expensive than needed but for whatever reason I really want to do a build in that case, should look cool! 2. In October I'm moving to a part of town with Gigabit Fiber and I'm so stoked, so I think the internet won't be an issue...
  3. alright so what is your opinion? Should I go for the quality or speed option?
  4. alright, I'll do some more research on GPU encoding, sounds like that's the way to go, so I can allocate more of my budget on the best GPU possible.
  5. What is the hit to gaming performance when encoding a stream on a GPU? I agree that anything more than a 3600 or intel 9700 or 10700 is unnecessary for gaming but I'm trying to figure out if jumping up to a 3900x is worth it for any streaming benefits or if encoding via the GPU makes more sense.
  6. That was my thought process as well. I've just streamed from my GPU because my current 3570k doesn't work too well trying to stream and play a game lol. What are the benefits and drawbacks of streaming on the CPU vs GPU?
  7. The only issue I'm starting to think about is that it will take a while after the new generation of products launch for 3rd parties to develop waterblocks and such for the new parts. But if that's the case the current generation of parts will be significantly cheaper, especially on the AMD side... I'm just thinking out loud now lol
  8. Thats a pretty good shout, and gives me room for my water cooling components in the $2k budget. Does anyone have experience with overlocking headroom on these mid to high range gpus on water and which you can get the most performance out of? And I think I will probably end up waiting until the end of the year to build the system, I can take advantage of holiday discounts and give time for the new products to be released and see if they are worth it for my uses.s
  9. Alright I gather your vote is more towards the lower end CPU and higher end GPU option? I just mentioned the $$$ 3950x as the highest option, but at $415 I feel like the 3900x is pretty good bang for buck. I agree that I don't need it to play games but with video editing in premiere and such I've caught the performance bug lol
  10. Budget (including currency): ~ $2,000 USD Country: Merica Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (Battlefield, Cod, Valorant, Rocket League Etc), Streaming those games, Video Editing. Other details: This is going to be a custom loop PC, I know with my budget constraints it's not the best bang for buck but I love modding and custom loops so I'm looking for parts that can take the most advantage of liquid cooling. Here's my train of thought: As much as I want to, I can't go all out with a 3950x and a 2080ti for my next rig. I play and stream games and am debating between a 3700x and 2080s combo, or a 3900x and 5700xt or 2070s. Which combo will offer better overall performance for my use case and be more receptive to liquid cooling? And if anyone has suggestions for other combos of parts I would love to hear your thoughts! Edit: I know that new parts are due to launch before the end of this year and I don't know how quickly this build will come together so what are your thoughts on waiting for next gen Ryzen, Radeon, and GeForce products, either to decrease the price of older parts so they become more accessible or to use new parts?
