  1. Plugged in another m.2 i usually use for my other system and that was recognized instantly. Going to start a return process for the m.2
  2. Unplugged my sata ssd and installed the m.2 again. Its still not showing up even though both of my 4tb hard drives are. I'm going to try on my other system and see if its an issue with the m.2 itself
  3. Heres the box: Also my motherboard is a Gigabyte B450M DS3H, not an asrock b450 sorry for that confusion
  4. Hello, I'm trying to install an M.2 SSD, but its not showing up in my bios. Here are the relevant specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 ds3h (i mistakenly mentioned the wrong motherboard) (Bios version F50) CPU: Ryzen 3 3200g M.2 SSD: WD Blue SN550 (500gb) Would i need to run a bios update to get the M.2 working? If so, which version? Additional notes: The computer itself is working fine. The installer for Pop Os detected the m.2 without issue. The Bios can't find it for some reason. I do have win 10 on a SATA 480gb SSD, so that may be a cause, but I'll unplug that SSD as a possible fix tomorrow. Edit: I am able to install Pop OS to the drive, but the bios did not list it as a boot option Settings in Bios: See screenshots atatched:
  5. Quick update, the issue appears to only be affecting Ubuntu based Distros, Manjaro and Arch Linux seems to work fine.
  6. Activation of network connection failed. prior to that it shows 05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Controller (rev 0c)
  7. So i reinstalled pop os, to fix a boot issue. Yet now my ethernet is not working on my rig. I've done some quick looking, and rebooted my device, twice as of writing this, but have had no luck so far. Does anyone have any suggestions as what to try next? Every other device has Ethernet/wireless access and the ethernet was working fine prior to the reinstall (made a pop os usb via win 10) tried to ping google.com and it claims a "temporary failure in name resolution" Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H Cpu: Ryzen 3 3200g
  8. I got it to boot to the existing operating system, so that's a start, thanks for your suggestion (wasn't able to get the bios open), I'll work on it from here
  9. So i was going through the steps to install Lubuntu onto my folks old Macbook (2009-2010, something like that) and i ran into an error where there is a black screen with a solid white dash in the left hand corner. Would it be a hardware issue? If so, would it be an indication of needing to replace the internal storage drive? I had previously installed Lubuntu successfully on this system. But the laptop ran into a problem with WLAN, which led me to seek to reinstall Lubuntu to try to fix the issue.
  10. Hence why i used air quotes, I'm aware that windows is technically free, although, many are not aware of that, and I don't want folks jumping to conclusions.
  11. I am trying to run a company here, so ''piracy'' isn't really an option. I also have to charge for assembly and sending the finished PC to the customer. i do have an AMD build estimate as well: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/HLvtcq Edit: That is one of the resources i had been using.
  12. Budget (including currency): $650 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: World or Warcraft Other details: see below. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/MunkTechPCBuild/saved/jhtKpg Hello, I am putting estimates together for a customer, but am unsure as to whether or not this build will handle World of Warcraft at 1080p with 30fps or higher. I have done some research into it, but have not found an answer yet. Thank you for your time.
  13. precisely, I'll remember to mention whether or not the system is assembled next time i ask a question.
  14. I thought you had meant while inside the case, sorry, misread your answer, also my desktop was fully assembled at the time and i didn't feel like taking it apart completely
  15. Sorry for the confusion, please read the last line of my question again
  16. Hello, how do i keep the backplate (not air cooler) from falling out of the motherboard while installing an RGB air cooler (AM4 socket) Asking for future reference when a second person isn't around to hold it in. Thanks Air Cooler: Cooler Master A71C Edit: i meant backplate not the air cooler, sorry for the confusion
  17. We went with one with a Ryzen 5 4500U, thanks for the sugggestion. He loves it so far,
  18. We already have one in mind, We're buying in Canada and I think the one we're looking at is somewhere under $1200 $1000 CAD
  19. Hello, I'm trying to help a sibling pick out a laptop for school. The main question I'm wanting to find an answer to here, is this: If a CPU has 1.6Ghz, but is a quad core, will the presence of 4 cores compensate for the lower clock speed? He's wanting to use the laptop for light gaming (Minecraft), and school work. Its a 2 in 1. (we're heading to a store tomorrow to get a closer look at it) Thanks in advance
  20. a Euro is approximately $1.57 CAD here. which would make your list about $629.18 CAD Not a bad build though, I'll definitely consider that Thanks
  21.
