  1. Hi so just today my computer has started to smell like a sharpie marker, I was just curious if anyone has had this issue/found a solution. I have possible culprits like my power supply fan not working or perhaps worse an aio leak (coolant can smell like sharpie) if anyone has any suggestions on how to make sure my PSU fan doesnt turn off or any other reasoning for this that would be really helpful thank you
  2. So my pc build looks a bit like this (keep in mind i will be adding more LL120 whites from corsair for the cooling and aesthetic) And in my quest to find a graphics that fits it I stumbled upon this (would be mounting vertically) now you may be thinking "oh sam that wouldnt work cuz the graphics card is black and would mess up the white look" and to that i say what if i could take off the casing and fans, paint them white and then add the casing to a 3080 would it be poorly cooled? maybe. would it look awesome? yes. but on a more serious note could i get your opinions on if this would a "good" idea or a "bad" idea and for what reasons Thank you.
  3. I want a new graphics card, and I've decided on a 3080 but I am having trouble finding one that fits my PC aesthetic Have any of you seen a 3080 white edition anywhere? or a silver one?
  4. hey if u arent gonna take those 2080 supers i would :)) (the ones in my area are like minimum 1000 for some reason)
  5. It was an alienware machine so im pretty sure the license would be attached to the hardware and not the account, as i tried using this ssd for my new build originally but it wouldnt load up a licensed version
  6. Okay, thank you ill try this and update soon However my only problem then would be that it would be on a free version of windows wouldnt it?
  7. As I recently built a new PC i decided to give my old one to my parents, an alienware machine But upon booting it i would get stuck in a boot loop preventing me from getting any further simply asking me to restart my PC as windows wasnt on the boot drive But keep in mind i used that PC for 4 years without any issues so i dont know where this problem came from I then tossed it into my new build to wipe the SSD but the skhynix software wont let me erase the drive for some reason any help or tips would be very much so apprecaited (another option i have is loading up windows onto a harddrive for the PC and making that the boot drive but yknow it would suck)
  8. So i held off buying a graphics card for the past 4 years and now I'm finally going to be upgrading as I'm also moving towards a more intensive workload then just 1080p gaming and i believe the 3080 is most likely the best GPU for its price on the market (unless amd does smth crazy) so its my current choice but I'm a bit uncertain about two things the thermals and power. 1) thermals- although NVIDIA showcased an amazing thermal solution for the 3080/90 the founders edition card may be a bit too big to place in my case (Lian li pc-o11 XL) and therefore I am looking to buy from a 3rd party such as msi, asus or others but sadly they haven't revealed their own performance or dimensions. Now the main question here would be should I hold off on the founders edition card and possible better performance for cheaper and buy a 3rd party card or should I get a vertical mounting kit for my pc and the founders edition 2) As we all know the 3080 is a monster when it comes to power consumption at a whopping 320W TDP paired with my 3700x, x570 board would it consume too much power for a 750W psu to handle? thank you for your input
  9. Okay thanks for the help :))
  10. Thank you, I just thought that my windows and other things on the same drive might mess smth up or smth, would the money be better spent on a hard drive instead to store games and raw footage?
  11. I’m building a new PC and bought a 1tb ssd that I plan on using for my games and information, would it be smart to use the same ssd as a boot drive or would it be smarter to buy a 128gb or 256gb one for my boot drive?
  12. the biggest problem i see here is that motherboard, if ur going for a ryzen 7 either 2000 series or 3000 id recommend atleast a b450 board b55o, and unless ur gaming at 1440p at like 240hz feels like that 2080ti might be a bit overkill, getting a 2070 super or 2080 super would probably be best and quite a bit cheaper. Also if u can id recommend waiting for the 3000 series nvidia cards and ryzen 4000
