  1. that's a pretty niche query you have there. given the general profile of this board, I'd say you'd have a better chance of replies for this particular issue on SO.
  2. maybe there was someone in there and stumbled on it.
  3. Are you sure about that? I mean if that's true then I've already increased memory performance from the base 16gb 2666mhz cl19 stick that was in it, not to mention the dual channel boost. I was trying to get a real benchmark of 2400mhz CL16 vs 2666mhz CL19 comparison but found nothing that specific.
  4. @TofuHaroto Thank you for your reply. There's no bios update. Just an EC update which seems to only be addressing some fan issues (which I do not have) according to update log. I've tried setting the CL value to something higher but no go. Maybe I didn't get the other numbers right? It's frustrating I have no feedback other than it's not working and a 3 minute reset procedure between attempts where one of the step is to hold a key for 45 seconds. Anyone have experience with this very kit?
  5. I've bought a kit of Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2666 MHz DDR4 DRAM Laptop Gaming Memory Kit 32GB (16GBx2) CL16 BLS2K16G4S26BFSD off Amazon and no matter what I do to the BIOS configuraiton it won't run in 2666mhz configuration. My laptop, an MSI Prestige 15, comes preinstalled with a 16gb stick of 2666mhz cl19 memory from Hynix, so I know it's capable of reaching that speed. However with this Crucial memory, anything above its default JEDEC 2400mhz will not boot the PC and I have to restore BIOS defaults to make it work again, no matter if I load the XMP1 profile or manually key in the XMP settings, (tried even giving it even a bit more voltage, but nothing). So I'm stuck at 2400mhz CL16. Is this a know limitation of this laptop? Somebody mentioned in MSI forums that MSI might be limiting RAM speed to 2400mhz above 31GB for certain laptop models. Is that a thing? Or is this Ballistix memory simply sucky/not compatible with my laptop? Crucial website lists it as 100% compatible with this laptop. Another thought is maybe I there is a quirk specific to this particular memory make and model. Did anyone manage to get this memory running at its advertised speeds? Here's some memory specs of one stick of this memory I've uploaded BIOS pics of the profiles shipped with the memory.
