    When you unmounted the bracket did you also unmount the back plate as well? That could be why they're not screwing

    You might be plugging the hdmi cable into the motherboard and its expecting an igpu. Make sure its plugged into the gpu.

    I've been trying for a while now, haven't had much luck.

    You should probably make sure that you have the front panel connectors in their correct positions.
