  1. I get it. May be it is just a matter of prespective. I have never considered LTT as a source of news outlet in the traditional sense. I do not expect them to be held at the same standard as proper review publications. Now that I think of it...I never cared when they genuienly got things incorrect. I think LMG needs to bring a visible distinction between a proper review and stupid, goofy videos. Since I have always gone in on a video expecting it to be a goof ball with some information sprinkled in, I have not cared about this stuff. On the other hand, some people came in expecting a review and got sh*t on. There is my solution LMG if you are listening. No is! You are not a small channel and not everyone has the same context and prespective. If they had managed viewer's expectation going into the video that this was not review then maybe it would turn out different. Maybe. I am just guessing.
  2. Agreed, that was a bad take. I am going to be the devil's advocate when I say this- Why are we holding some other human being to the impossible standard of wording intentions perfectly when most of us cannot do it. Would this alternate sentence make things better? - "The product is going to be used by only handful of people. Therefore, I am not going to invest same amount of resources as I otherwise do. This is not a review, it is a fun project with a cool product".
  3. I understand that part. I dont get the amount of backlash. I can see this carelessness result into poor like/dislike ratio, negative comments, special apology segment on WAN show, etc.
  4. Hmm. That one didnt sting me as much because i was of the same opinion when I heard about the price. But I get why super-enthu people will consider that bad. For most people it is too expensive, is it not?
  5. Bad communication on LMG's part is bad. Couldnt agree more on that part. on the other hand how does that matter? even wish.com products are meant to be sold to people but they are not considered as serious videos. I remember their melting thermal pad review as well. It was a stupid video with just positive outcome. One thing I can think of is that billet labs provided the protoype for a video. LTT should have completely benched it or informed billet labs that they intend to make a goofy video with it and not a review.
  6. I know I am 347 pgs late to this party. But here's what I would like to ask to the general forum. Why was billet labs video such a big deal? When I saw the video, I considered it to be in the same league as their other goofy PC cooling videos. Cooling outcome felt immaterial to the purpose of the video.
  7. That is weird. Do you require extra hardware to support pppoe client? Is there any round about way to get this done on switch?
  8. I am noob too but from what I understand. Purpose of VLAN is to do this exactly. Have you looked into it?
  9. I have recently purchased a netgear GS308T switch. Marketing material says that it is L1/L2+/L3 switch. How do I configure my PPPoE internet for this switch? Or am I getting something wrong here?
  10. I feel like I have 2 options and both of them are as below: [Any help in this appreciated, Thanks] Queries: 1) If we go for option 1, will Netgear mesh router suffice to control the network and for security? 2) What is the impact of Smart managed switch > Unmanaged switch (R3) directly VS smart managed switch > Netgear Child > Unmanaged switch (R3)? [PS. That is my room, I would prefer to have best possible speed, connectivity and control. Negligible real world impacts can be ignored] 3) Can I connect my Netgear Child to Netgear parent via a smart switch as shown in Option 1? 4) Does option 2 present any advantages over option 1? 5) Is there any opportunity to build redundency into the network? 6) Also, it is important that I be able to have control over my smart switch, router, ISP router from anywhere in my house through any device. Is that feasible and doable in this network? 7) This is asking for too much, I know >> I need a cheapest option to have access to my private network through external network. [I am behind a CGNAT, with no IPv6 support | preferably free since this more of a hobby project than a real requirement]
  11. Not that you can verify, let just say I am older. In that case, how can I access my private network from the internet? PS, I am pursuing this as a hobby since I am going to upgrade my network soon. It would be pretty cool if i could access my private from anywhere in the world.
  12. @Fox3211 Were you able to resolve this? I am facing a similiar issue. Here are the few solutions that I read about, not sure how to implement them: 1. One of the solutions I was told is to setup a VPS (This one is easy but will cost you money on monthly basis) 2. Get a static IP from ISP (Obivious one) 3. Hole punching (Not sure how to implement this one) 4. Some ISPs charge for a ipv4 static public IP but may provide you with IPv6 address for free (Not sure how can we leverage this but you could google around and see) (This does not seem applicable for me because my ISP does not assign ipv6 address to me by default, also they are kinda a cheap ISP - probably dont have the infra to do that as well) Thanks for your help!
  13. I am confused even further. I am attaching photos from some other laptops that I have. So, All my laptops have screen bleeding or is this not screen bleeding at all? This is the one I recently bought - MSI gf65 Other lenovo laptop:
  14. Yes, even I couldnt find anything on it going away on its own. So, it there anyway to explain why did it go away on its own? Because when I return the product and some technician finds sees that there is no issue with this unit then I might have some problem with getting replacement or refund.
  15. Recently bought an MSI laptop GF65 thin. On second day, I noticed some backlight bleed which was even noticeable in naturally lit room. Below is the photo at 50% brightness in a dark room. 4 days later I noticed that the bleeding has absolutely gone. It is barely noticeable at 100% brightness in dark room. Is this common? Is this permanent? Should I get my unit replaced? Also, on a side note, I have redeemed some free digital game copies from Intel software offer and MSI website. Will this hinder with my refund process? Also, if my unit gets replaced will I be able to carry forward my games saves?
  16. What's curious is that the crash is caused by offloading the stress not during the stress. I would like to know what is causing it and if there is anyway to resolve this.
  17. System: MSI GF65 thin / i7-9750H / RTX 2060 mobile. Stop Overclocking utility: Intel XTU Stress test utility: Prime95 Voltage offset: -0.2V (Did not crash even after running the stress test for 2 hrs) How to replicate the issue: 1. Start stressing you CPU > Apply voltage offset after ~1min > Stop the stress test >CRASH! 2. Apply voltage offset without stressing your CPU Other observation: Whenever I decrease the voltage - instead of decreasing temperature, I see a increase in clock speed with temperature hovering around 91C. (I dont think this a good outcome, not sure though) Also, I successfully increased my GPU core clock by 160Mhz (Crashes at 175Mhz) & memory clock by 600MHz (Yet, to see the ceiling on this one). Question: 1. How do I resolve CPU undervolting issue? 2. Do these numbers look normal for mobile cpu & gpu? As in, am I frying my system here?
  18. My LG OLED does as well. You can try to play an mp4 DV file or stream from Netflix & Primevideo to see it.
  19. Yep, it is playing HDR10 not Dolby Vision. The only file which successfully played both DV & DA was the demo file inside my TV. Its extension is .lge and I couldnt find any way to copy it to external media to inspect it further.
  20. Yea hopefully it will all get sorted soon. I own all the compatible output equipment, waiting for the input technology to again catch up to the year 2016 when OPPO 203 got launched!!
  21. Yea. And even they cannot play dual layer DV. In which world this makes sense?! There are no Bluray players in the market which can utilize all the available resources Bluray can provide. Also, are you sure Bluray players can do DV Profile 5 + DA? Have tried any?
  22. I am sad to inform that after extensive research for last 6 hrs on forums, reddit, and googling - It is simply not possible to watch movies with Dolby vision and Dolby atmos at the same time unless you have OPPO 203/204 which is discontinued. The only other way to get them is through streaming services or through TV demo videos (works on LG OLED, not sure about others). So, what is the next best thing that we have?? (tested in LG OLED TV) 1. Dolby vision + AC3: You will have to use MP4 as the container. Recently MKV started supporting dolby vision as well but this is a recent development and therefore has not been extensively tested. 2. HDR10 + Dolby Atmos: Works with m2ts container. Wont detect DV even if it is encoded. 3. HDR10 + AC3: Works with MKV. Lastly, there is Sony UBP-X700/800/.... series of bluray players which probably support DV+DA but couldnt find anything definitive. Therefore, not sure. Also, even if they do, I am pretty sure they wont be able to play duel layer DV (profile 7). Last Lastly, No, you cannot solve this problem with Plex, Nvidia shield/pro, Kodi, etc. Each one will have one or the other limitation out of the 3 mentioned. I am posting here to see if anyone is using some really obscure - out of the box way to achieve this......Please do let me know. Thanks.
  23. I understand. I just did not want people to be dealing with my local currency conversions. Anyways, these are links to amazon.in as below: MSI: https://www.amazon.in/MSI-GP65-Leopard-9SD-459IN-9S7-16U121-459/dp/B08696L1JC/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=msi+gp65&qid=1594421026&sr=8-1 A15: Directly spoke with Asus dealer and I was informed that A15 with following spec (Asus TUF Gaming A15 Ryzen 7 Octa Core - (16 GB/512 GB SSD/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home/6 GB Graphics/NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1660 Ti) Gaming Laptop (15.6 inch, Fortress Grey, 2.30 kg)) will be coming out @ 128k INR Making A15 about 300 USD more expensive than MSI. Lastly, benchmarks that I posted below are exactly CPU-GPU config that we are trying to compare. You can see average FPS in MSI is better A15. Thank you for your help.
  24. Yes, you are correct. So, the thing is I was referring to variant which is available in my country which has 16gb ram + 256 NVME + 1TB SATA. (MSI GP65 Leopard 9SD-459IN) Took screenshot of closest variant from amazon.com so that the conversation could be universal. Also, if 4800H is not able to outperform i7-9750H while playing games then those multicores and threads are of no use to me. I will have to eat shit on that SSD but I more than happy to let that go for far more superior display quality and 5-10% bump in fps at lower cost.
