  1. Never have I said I did not like the company and all of their products. I appreciated the fact that they at least tried to help me but as the customer, I had the choice of following their suggestion and get a fresh G502 or return it and pick something else to try. I chose the latter, picked up the Rival already and having a more positive experience with the Rival. If what you see was me throwing a tantrum about the mice and somehow picked up the claim that I hated the company, I have never even said that nor mean it in the first place. I like Logitech and their products but I am just saying that my experience with the G502 during my playtime with it was unsatisfactory for their intended audience and the price set. Most likely I had a bad set of cards and it didn't work to my favour but the experience I had with the mice, and hearing "few" of the people who had it and gotten an exchange a couple of times with repeated results have influenced my decision of the exchange/refund of the mice, not the company overall. I am just sharing my experience and thoughts of the mice I got, that's all.If you have the mouse that didn't have the mentioned issues, I guess I can say you got a good set of cards, but not me as I don't have the time to perform numerous refunds/exchanges due to work/college and family stuff until I do have the time in the week to perform such a task myself.
  2. http://forums.logitech.com/t5/G-series-Gaming-Mice/G502-tracking-problems/td-p/1248810 You using the right sensitivity? 400 DPI, 6/11 Windows Sens without "Enhance Precision" feature. Firmware as of the day I posted this thread, CS:GO sens was at 1.8 without Raw Input or Accel on. And it's not even making a "public announcement" for 1 customer. If apparently I was the only person who had this issue, I would've gone in with the exchange and keep trying it out. But when I found that thread from the Logitech support forums, already I knew that I have to make the choice of either getting a refund or keep trying it out. The build quality feels really solid besides the feet. Even though the mouse is what appears to be plastic, it feels really solid and I doubt you can break it AT ALL if you hit your mouse in the wall by accident when you try to make flick shots at low sensitivity (Thankfully that didn't happen in my playtime with the mice!). Either way, the mouse is really great, mind the sensor and the feet.
  3. True. I never had an issue with the old Logitech Optical Click! mouse and I enjoyed its unique ergonomics and the useful back button on the middle of the mice whenever I browsed the web. This mice got me sad in the end, especially when I decided to get the refund and use the money to get myself the Rival, which I have to say that I wished I have gotten this mouse instead of the G502, since it is stupidly more comfortable than I originally anticipated. All in all, I guess the G502 was not meant for the serious shooters.
  4. Finally I got myself the Rival! After I bought it from my nearby Canada Computers (I know about their return policy being bs and all but stores such as Best Buy/Future Shop didn't have any, and they were closer than the 2 so...), I unpacked the baby and boy oh boy is their packaging really difficult to unbox or am I just awful with Steelseries' packaging? Anyways, I unpacked it without any paper damage and got the mouse out of the way, and the first thing that I did was to put my entire hand on the device and BOY does it feel comfortable and significantly lighter than the other mice I had. The initial thoughts The top shell, man did it surprised me with the rubber-like coating! I can see the "sweat" stains on it but after wiping it with just a glasses cloth (Or a T-Shirt. Whichever was in reach) will make it 'fade' away! I can hold the mice without fear of losing grip of it thanks to the anti-sweat coating on it as well as the two rubber grips on the side which feel like it was scratching my skin a tiny bit, since the rubber was a tad harder than I thought but still not much of an issue. I can safely Palm-grip this mice or 'Hybird'-grip it without losing grip of the entire device. I can hold this mice ALOT more easily and more comfortably than the G502 (To my surprise!) and that is speaking a lot thanks to the "bump" on the right side of the mice! The left and right clicks do feel much harder to click than the Xornet and the G502 but after getting some time into it, I can pull the trigger with ease, though the sensitivity of these clicks are much tighter than even the Razer Deathadder 2013 that I tried when I visited my friend's place! Those who are not into FPS's nor those who need to click fast and lightly as possible should try out the clicking sensitivity in-stores before you buy it! For me, it wasn't an issue after a while. The preset CPI changer button doesn't even get in the way of my index and middle finger at the least and I can press the side buttons easily with my thumb, regardless of the gripping style I use! And lastly, it came with a name plate labelled "Steelseries" and I immediately used my fingers to remove the "Rival" nameplate and plugged in the "Steelseries" one as I prefer that, though it is hard to tell the nameplate at a glance since I am using the Steelseries QcK+ XXL. Personally, I don't care too much about getting someone to 3D Print a nameplate with what I like so I won't bother with it until I feel like getting someone to help me do it. After plugging in the mice and installing the Steelseries Engine 3, updating the mouse's firmware, I went to use the Engine's software to tweak a few things: The CPI and the colour of the mousewheel and the logo. I immediately changed the first CPI sensitivity to 400 CPI and it worked wonders to my expectations. Using the Enotus mouse test, it did show that it was using 400 DPI/CPI after I moved the mice 10 cm, so that's nice to know it worked well! The mouse test also proved that the smoothness, precision and speed (Like the 1000hz test and such) to be just what it should say on the box! Now the colour, I ended up using the ColorShift on both Mwheel and the logo using the first colour option as it breathed nice and smoothly, compared to the last option which breathes from pure Red to Green, to Yellow, Blue, etc like it was in 15 FPS than even 40 FPS! Joking aside, it looked nicer that it transitioned from one colour to another nicely when I just leave it on the pad and admire its pretty lights. What's special about it? From what I noticed, there is no mouse acceleration on it at all from my playtime of it on CS:GO and at the very least, it did not mouse spaz at all! After trying to fine tune the sensitivity I want with the Rival at 400 CPI, I can get used to it at in-game sensitivity of 2 with no Acceleration on, no Angle Snapping, nor even Windows's Enhance Pointer crap, left at 6/11 Windows sensitivity. The design of the Rival REALLY reminded me of the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer from the good old days, which explained how I was able to grip it with ease. I can easily frag and perform flick shots without getting spazzed out nor discomforted after hours of playtime in the usual Deathmatch servers of CS:GO. So far, I really enjoyed this mice and it made me feel like I should not have gotten the other one so I can get more playtime on this earlier. For $59.99 CDN, this mouse really surprised me a lot, even though it isn't braided nor gold plated (But personally I do not care for it after having experienced it before...). This is my 2nd time giving my review/impressions of a mouse and I appreciate any feedback/criticisms as I would like to improve my reviewing skills even more.
  5. Welp. After talking with the support team, they ended up suggesting me that I should just go to my store and make an exchange of the mice... Not even addressing the issue nor even think about providing some kind of fixes. It took them almost a week to even validate the Best Buy online receipt and haven't heard from them in over 4 days till they basically told me to exchange the mice for the same thing. Hearing other people had the mouse spaz issue, I decided to just get a full refund and pick up the Steelseries Rival. Today, I went to the store and picked up the Rival and I'll be sharing my first impressions of the mouse in a different thread. I couldn't stand the fact that I would have to suffer this mouse spazzing issue nor would they admit that it was an issue. This is probably the worst relation I had with the Logitech team and just telling me to exchange instead of offering a repair service or a replacement, not even addressing the issue to the public, just bothers me. Sorry Logitech, I love you, but just not the G502 this time and I hope you DO take the issues I talked about some time and try to resolve it in your future mice. Here are the pics I had of the G502 on its first week. A great design and comfortable ergonomics but the sensor spazzing blows it away. http://imgur.com/NL3k8K6 http://imgur.com/SCg3XFC If you wish, you may lock this thread.
  6. Will do Captain! And I decided to just keep the mouse and give Logitech my opinions/issues of the mice so that we'll be able to take down any issues that arises with the mice and its software. I even promised to try to keep this mice for about 30 days so I'll hang onto it, even after Best Buy's return/exchange warranty period (Usually 30 days since I bought the device). I'll continue to give updates as the G502 and I will try to mend our relationship! Wish us luck! UPDATE: I have tried the differences between the sensor tuning and the Factory Default preset that Faceman talked about and noticed no difference between the two. I still suffer the mouse spaz when I tried to do flick shots rather quickly in L4D2, Killing Floor, and CS:GO, heck even desktop and I notice that I can make it happen more often as I flick the mouse hard and fast. This is really disturbing to me and it's already making me reconsider this mouse now...
  7. I'm using the Steelseries QcK+ XXL (The plain black one). From my testing, there is NO acceleration at all and it points me back to my same spot where I was initially looking at (I do a 360 quick test. Shoot at the area I'm looking at once, quickly move away and move the mouse back to the same spot on my pad). I've already emailed Logitech about it and boy do they reply quite fast! Gave them my details and such and hope we can solve the issues soon. I did use the sensor tuning on my QcK+ XXL. I haven't tried it on the Factory Default tuning though but when I play more tonight, I'll give an update later. I'm using 400 DPI on whatever I'm doing, even on desktop/office work, and while in CS:GO and L4D2, I played at a 1.8 sensitivity (Which I find to be my preference as I tried to use 1.9 and 2, it felt WAY too much for me). I agree this mouse has an amazing precision but the mouse spazzing when you try to do flick shots gets my nerves. Again, talked with Logitech about this and here's hoping to find a solution to this soon.
  8. Welp. I might as well post my day 2 feeling of it and it's a mix of good and bad. The good I am already becoming more comfortable to use this mice and I am loving it bit by bit with the shape and ergonomic design. The scroll wheel is becoming more usable and I can bhop in CS:GO quite easily than the Xornet did. The bad I also am noticing a major issue that really REALLY ticks a low sensitivity player like me in shooters that would piss every competitive player off: The mouse spaz. Basically what I mean by this is that if you swipe your mice to the left or right too fast just so you can do your flick shots, the mouse will somehow aim to the floor or the sky on its own and sometimes, you'll even do a 360 dance too. This doesn't happen too often but when you're in a tight situation in a fire fight from defending bombsites or attacking bombsites, the chance of it happening is still pretty slim but it does happen. I checked around the Logitech forums and unfortunately, there are people who suffered this mouse tracking issue as well. Some suggest using something like game-detection profile instead of the on-board profile feature to prevent the mouse spaz and I'll try it when I get more time in the next few days... Do note that this spazzing issue doesn't happen 100% of the time at least. It's like a 5% chance of it to happen (Rough random guess but it's kinda less though. Still has a chance of happening). I'll keep playing around with the mice but there's no word from Logitech that they will fix the issue (Though they are aware of it now at the least). I'm kinda disappointed thus far on this but I hope a firmware update will fix this mouse spaz issue soon. Gosh and I just upgraded from the Xornet... I'll keep updating from now on and give you guys what I'm going through with this mice when I come back from my shift in the next few days. Edit: Now I'm thinking of exchanging it for the Rival... But I'll give the mouse another shot tough and see if I get the spaz issue when I play again. Forgot to mention that as I was playing L4D2, as I try to turn a 180 to run from the Tank, I somehow was looking at the sky at that very moment and it almost costed me my life (in-game of course!). Made me rather mad at how random this happens.
  9. If that interests you, I shall do that. I'll post in this thread after I spend like a couple more days to a week and give you my feelings of the mice thus far. Cheers! That I shall when I make a more formal version of it! Maybe in a different thread for organization's sake? Or just reply it here after I spend like a full month or 2 to get a good feel of it within this thread? Either way, I'll make it more formal as possible and I'll toss in some pics done from my Xperia T to give readers and future owners of this beautiful mice of how it looks from my PoV! Thanks for the feedback regardless!
  10. Just got this mice shipped from Best Buy (Shipped Monday) and arrived today! As soon as I removed that cardboard mail packaging, I see the box of the G502! I was as excited as a schoolgirl and immediately opened the box up! What came in the box was the mice itself, the weights, and some papers that lazy me won't even care about reading (Okay, I'll admit. I read the pdf's online like the day before I got this mice and boy was I really bored that day). Before plugging in the mice, I tried to mess around with how the weights worked and noticed that before even installing the weights, it was a bit heavier than the CM Storm Xornet, which I used since it came, and the Logitech Optical Click! mouse I once used before the Xornet arrived. Back to the weights, installing it was easy but removing them was a bit tedious, but still easy if I were to just pick them up from the sides. The weight cover covering the weight was really simply and it was just as easy as lifting it, though it cannot be easily removed on gameplay (especially if it's facing the mousepad!). Now comes the big part, the shape of the mice. At first, I was pretty scared about it since it is definitely much bigger than the Xornet (My god was it huge!) but once I put my entire hand on it, it wasn't that bad to Claw grip it or it even full Palm it (I wear a Men's Medium sized glove for those curious). I can easily use my thumb to use the side buttons to go forward or backwards on Google Chrome and the Steam community pages, and use my index finger to use the default DPI buttons (Which can be modified, which I'll mention in the next paragraph) without issue and the G-Sniper button isn't even in my way when I Palm or Claw grip it at all. Although, as I played CS:GO (At 400 DPI. Trying to find the right sensitivity in-game. Currently trying 2.4 sens but may decrease it a bit more as I find it too fast for me), I noticed that my hands are struggling to adapt to the shape of this beast of a mice, though it will take some time for me to conform to the shape but I see I can do it in less than 2 days of gameplay of hardcore CS:GO deathmatches. The scroll wheel makes me cringe however, it is rather bigger than the Xornet and very restrictive than it too, making me have to use a stronger force to move the scroll wheel up and down. Free scrolling did make it stupidly easier than the Xornet's mousewheel but even the TINIEST scrolling can make my character jump (I use the mousewheel to jump for bunny hopping around corners and such). I can try to get used to the wheel but man do I need to use a stronger force to use it. And finally, the Logitech Gaming Software. It was really user friendly, I can easily change whatever button it can using the drop down menu and I can easily change that G-Shift button to make it use the Shift key so I can just press it and walk in CS:GO easily (Or sprint on other games too). I've yet to explore a lot of the software but overtime when I'm bored, I'll explore deep in this software. With this software, I can change the DPI of my current profile and the profile I want to use, easily. I can put up to 5 DPI settings per profile, where the mouse can hold up to 3 profiles! That's quite a lot. Since I'm new to this little devil, I'll just enable one profile and stick with 400 DPI (800 DPI when I play surf maps just for the heck of it). I apologize for the informal format of this first day look of this mice but I'm still learning more about this mice! Hopefully after a week, I'll get a better grip of this mice and hopefully by the end of the month, I'll be more and more comfortable about the mice. But one thing I already don't like about it is how quick the dust can cling onto the mouse feets... Yeah... I did what I can to carefully remove the dust from it but after some swiping here and there, I notice that there's more dust on the feets! And what I even notice is how weak the adhesives are on the feet too! Just actually moving these mouse feets will make it move (since I noticed that the bottom feet wasn't glued on straight to the shell of the mouse by like a 10th of a millimetre). Hopefully it won't peel off on its own, otherwise I may have to get a 3rd party mouse feet to replace the Logitech ones. But so far, this mouse is great! Best 74.99 (before tax) spent thus far on just the first day of usage! Will make a more formal review of this mice after using it for a month or 2 so I can at least get a better feel at it.
  11. I never liked high DPI to begin with. I wanted this mouse because of how comfortable it feels as well as the no accel on it for a Logitech Optical sensor (Which I have to say is amazing). But yea, spending $79.99 CDN for a mouse should be about its comfort, and the features of the mice but for 80 bucks and the chance of getting an easy tearable mouse feet still concerns me but if I must, I'll pick up this mouse anyways and see how it tolerates at 400 DPI in a weeks use, once I pick it up someday...
  12. Just as I was anxious to save up the portion of the paycheques for this mouse, this vid arrived and well... My fear of the feets are starting to kick back in =/ I am really curious as to what the users of this mouse do to their mice and what kind of pad they use? As well as if they are a low sens gamer or high sens? Don't get me wrong, I am still interested in this mice but if this mouse feet issue happens on my unit after I take the time to visit my nearby Best Buy (As I have a gift card with some funds leftover so why not?), I may consider getting a 3rd party PTFE feet (Already seeing feets on eBay from Hong Kong and China that has all of the feets specifically for the G502), call up Logitech to get help, or if I'm still griped about it after purchase, the DA 2013 or the Steelseries Rival will take its place after an exchange. Here's hoping that it'll never happen after weeks of use in a low sens gameplay on my QcK+ XXL! Really would love to experience the love of Logitech Mices after my Logitech Optical Click! mice got replaced with the Xornet.
  13. Now do note that my pad isn't even dirty yet since I recently bought this within the week, but hearing people saying how their mousepads gets dirty overtime and toss in suggestions such as "Tossing it in the washing machine, wash it with your hands with a toothbrush, etc", I want to know how to even wash it properly (And I plan on keeping the suggestions so that if my pad ever gets dirty from my dog, dust, etc, I'll refer to the tips/instructions here just to play it safe as I trust this community more than other forums). Basically, what kinds of tips or instructions can you provide to a newbie of owning a legit gaming mousepad (I used to use my laptop case from Belkin which is cloth/neoprene-like material that tracked my Xornet but the edges annoys my aim)?
  14. Currently using the CM Storm Xornet on the Steelseries QcK+ XXL, have the Xornet since its release, and the QcK+ rather recently, and it is still a fine mouse if you have a "Medium glove US" sized hands and can claw grip it. For the cheap price I paid for ($20 CDN before tax), it was a cheap, yet good investment over the years! Practically paid itself for how often I use it!
  15. Phew! Glad to hear that only happens if you somehow become the Angry German Kid to even get the RMB to activate from slamming it, the people I read from other forums said it happens to them too often but you basically cleared the air for me that it only works if you slam it to the point that you're enraged. Also glad to hear that Logitech does have a great customer service so that's a plus I am happy to place my money in! Thanks again withtheeye and SirRoderick! Would be willing to hear more opinions of the mouse, pros or cons regardless, but I think I'll consider saving up the cash for the G502! Thanks again!
