Im looking to upgrade my CPU from a Ryzen 3 3200g. I’ve found some second hand ones for pretty decent prices but I’m not sure the difference in performance between the following Ryzen 5 2600x, 3600x, 3600, 5600x and Ryzen 7 3700, 2700x This would be for gaming as well as 3D modelling for engineering Thanks!

Hi. My wifi used to be rather strong and recently it’s slowed down like mad! It isn’t that old but this morning Ookla showed me 223 ms ping 11 download and 14 upload. It’s just become impossible to do anything properly let alone gaming. Please help me to speed it up again (Problem 1) My computer is also quite far away from the main router. (Note :: the results above were measured nearer to the router) This means that I can’t get a strong connection to game on said computer. I was getting something like 800 ping. It is currently connected to Ethernet from a wifi extender. Short of moving the router or upgrading it, please can someone give me some advice on how to get a better connection with less ping. (Problem 2) Thanks!

I have a chromebook which my sister has asked me to look at - it has a high pitched whine when she uses it It is an Acer Chromebook Spin 13 with a pentium gold. At the moment I’m aware that it could be : Fans (would know how to fix) Coil Whine (Don’t know how to fix) Hardware Issue (would know how to fix) Any other issue that I am unaware of if anyone has any information on the bold stuff then that would be greatly appreciated

I currently have the Corsair 4000x case and I like it quite a bit but I find that it is very big and I don't like how dark the side panel is. Ideally there would be a way for me to make the side panel less dark - so if anyone has any ideas on how to do that please say. But if not, I was wondering how bad the intake and airflow on the H510 is and if it as bad as some people say then what alternative would you choose. My budget would be around £60 - £110

I read on Tom's Hardware that with a firmware update will allow me to use a Ryzen 5000 processor on my Gigabyte A320 motherboard. If this is true, is it just the newest AMD Chipset Driver on the Gigabyte Website. Also can someone link me a good video on how to update my chipset for Gigabyte mobos

I’m using UTC, parallels is too expensive.

Anyone know how I can install a network adapter to my Mac run Windows Virtual Machine. It doesn’t have any internet connect at the moment and when I try to use a usb c to transfer a network adapter installer it says that the usb has malfunctioned and Windows can’t use it.

I have an M1 MacBook Air and I want to have a windows 10 virtual machine. Does anyone know how I can do this because all of the Youtube Videos have me using parallels but I can’t spend any money on it. I need a free alternative

I have the M1 MacBook Air 8GB model and want to run solidworks to do my schoolwork. If I were to use Parallels I could run it off of Windows but I'm not sure how much storage that would use. I am aware that I would need to install Parallels, Windows 10 Arm and then Solidworks on that VM. How much storage space would that require? And also would it run smoothly?

When I go onto the apple app store, the reviews for DaVinci Resolve are all really bad. I have the new MacBook Air M1 and when I watched a video earlier this week it seemed that it was working fine for that person. Are there still crashing issues for M1 Macs or have they been resolved now? Also, if anyone knows about Resolve, when updating it can you just delete the old version?

If my son signs into a new MacBook with his iPhone Apple ID will the restrictions carry over or do I have to enter them again.

I’m thinking of getting a MacBook Air 2021 and wondered how long past MacBooks have lasted in the past and if anyone knows how long this one will last before slowing down too much.

I’m thinking of upgrading that’s what I’m asking about. I want to upgrade to a 2021 MacBook Air and wondered if using an external drive on that will help to improve its performing life. My current laptop is broken. I shouldn’t have mentioned it so don’t worry about that.

I have reinstalled and cleaned the entire the entire thing. I have also taken it to many places and they don’t have an answer for me. Could an external drive still be plausible though as it is cheaper than getting a higher capacity internal.

I’ve had problems with my current computer in that it has massively slowed down and become unusable in only three years. If I were going to get a new MacBook Air I had this idea to keep it fast - I just need to check if this could actually work: - Get one with 16GB of RAM - Use an external SSD to store the majority of my programs that I won’t need in daily life (school) Hopefully this could help to avoid it slowing down too quickly. Any ideas if this would work?

I got a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series laptop in July 2018 and for the past year and a bit it’s been extremely slow and crashes quite a bit even when doing the light schoolwork that I have used it for. In the past three days it gets frozen when opening some Google Chrome websites and other times the trackpad mouse just doesn’t work. I don’t know how long a laptop like this is supposed to last and if anyone has any ideas on how to fix it. Note that I have factory reset this laptop five times in the 3 years that I’ve had it and have done on in the past few weeks. the laptop is an 8GB model with a Ryzen APU inside (I don’t know which one).

I can’t run an Ethernet cable direct from my router…

It’s about 30 feet (10 metres for me). What hardware would I get?

I am currently using ethernet from a wifi extender to connect to my main router for internet. Previously this has given my under 10 ping in game but recently it has jumped to 30-40 stable. I was wondering if there was a way to fix it or to improve ping. I am still using the same extender (a net gear one) connecting to the same wifi (a BT Smart Hub 2). I can’t run an Ethernet cable directly from the router either btw.
