I'm worried that it might catch on fire. Not worried much about the Ethernet ports.

If Ethernet does work, is it still safe to use?

I messed up and plugged the wrong power cord into my 5 port gigabit Ethernet switch and burnt it. A little bit of smoke came out of the side vent and gave the room a smokey smell. But when using the power cord meant for the switch, the power led still lights up. (I didn't plug Ethernet cable into it. So I don't know if Ethernet ports work.) Could that mean the switch still works and is fine to use? Should I test the Ethernet ports out? I don't think the switch got warm/hot at all.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I am doing something for a class, and am having trouble figuring it out. I've googled it for hours with no luck. I am doing this "Variable Manipulation challenge basic 31" challenge from this website called https://www.enigmagroup.org/pages/challenges and have narrowed it down to a "malicious" redirect to index2.php. if anyone knows how to move forward from there. Please let me know, I think this is the last challenge I need to do. At least, I think it's a malicious redirect. Thanks for the help!!

Im looking at getting infiniband pcie nic, does freenas support infiniband yet?

Sorry, I should've mentioned this part before but forgot. I was talking about the infiniband technology with those 2 brands. I read that infiniband support was in the nightlies for 9.10 i think. What mellanox/qlogic pcie 10gbe+ adapters are compatible with freenas? I am looking at getting some from ebay to connect my windows 10 desktop to my freenas server so it's not limited to gigabit speeds.

I know what you mean, but just to be technical. I'm not using it 24/7. I read a while back the ok range for voltage from intel or another forum and it said something about 1.45 or 1.47v being ok. But what I also want to know is if that max temp from the picture is ok. I even tried 4.8GHz but that required the voltage to go higher as with this voltage at 4.8GHz it would bluescreen. Also, you must have a really good chip to do 4.6GHz at 1.33v!

When checking hwmonitor, my overclock i7 6700k at 4.7GHz at 1.7v maxes out at about 90c for the package temp. The cores temps are 87c, 90c, 82c, and 89c. he case is a core p3 case and the cpu cooler is in push pull h100i GTX. How are the temps for my case? Thanks for the help!!!!

I am trying to pxe boot but I keep getting the start pxe over ipv4 error when I try to.

I know that the android 7.0 update launched for shield tablets and wanted to know that if I downloaded the recovery files (not just recovery img) from nvidia if I could flash that instead of doing the ota update method. Or if I am in an area with no data connection at all, if I could flash 7.0 files then. One of my reasons is because until we know that root and maybe xposed is out for android 7.0, that I could use native 7.0 features then when I need my device rooted, flash back to 6.0 and restore my rooted rom. Is that an ok thing to do? Side question: Is ok to lock the bootloader through fastboot oem lock either if i am on a rooted stock rom or a rooted custom rom or if I need to unroot but want to stay on the stock or custom rom that I am using at that time. Or would relocking at all the bootloader mess it up? Thanks for the help!!

My router is an Asus rtac56r. I have a 9TB raid 5 freenas server, I have a used desktop that can be converted to whatever needed. And I put in a PXE compatible Intel gigabit pcie card in the desktop. My network is gigabit. I know that I need to disable DHCP server on my router. But I know that I can't point the DHCP server on my router to the pxe server which I have yet to setup. I'm not sure what os to use for the PXE/DHCP server. What os would you guys recommend? And how can I set this up? Thanks for the help!!

For the dhcp server tab in my router there is DNS server WINS server, manually assign ip address, router domain name and the basic dhcp server stuff but no pxe server IP. There is also a route tab to configure static routes. I don't think that's what you mean though.

I have a ASUS router so I don't know if I can point the dhcp server to pxe server. Also, I am not sure on how to enable dhcp on pxe and cooperate on the network with the router. My reason for it is because (in no order at all) it would be cool for my home network setup, I wanted to try it out and see how it works (I just might keep the pxe server if it works) and I do sometimes have to install/reinstall OS's and I thought pxe would be better than rewriting each os to a flash drive or a dvd. What OS's can do pxe and the dhcp server if my router dhcp server can't point to pxe? How would I check to see if my router dhcp server can point to pxe?

I have a gigabit local network with CAT6 and a freenas server with plenty of space. And I have an old pc that I can put any os needed on it. But I am not sure How I can setup PXE on my network. What else do I need? Thanks for the help!!

I don't really want to go with an external AP because that's just another cable and unit I would have to route and I cant route any cables along the walls here.

Does OPNSense or PFSense OS support wireless AC wifi from pcie card to 3 external antenna's?

I reinstalled windows 10 pro and reinstalled all my drivers. And when I went to youtube and went to plex, the bass never did kick in. In sonic studio 2, it's supposed to upmix setero to 5.1 surround sound so I can get the bass with the music. But after windows reinstall, it worked intermittently then just stopped using the bass completely. I do note however that so far, the bass DOES work in my games so far which is good. I even tried using my old soundblaster zx sound card and it had about the same trouble if not worse. What do you guys think? Thanks for the help!!

How is it harder? I would think it would just take a bit more to grip it.

Why? Also, are there at least flat connector heads or can the connector heads that go on round cables also work on flat cables?

I don't think a build needs to be $7000 or more to be "doing it right" in the core p3. But it is a great looking case.
