  1. Ok to everyone, final question for this build aside from the one above. This is the build at the prices I've found each part: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3300X 3.8 GHz Quad-Core Processor ($122.78) Motherboard: ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($104.25) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory ($79.99 @ Newegg) Storage: TCSunBow X3 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($91.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB TUF GAMING OC Video Card ($219.99) Case: Corsair iCUE 220T RGB Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case ($97.99 @ Best Buy) Power Supply: Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply ($76.89) Total: $793.88 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-06-13 20:59 EDT-0400 So my last question to everyone...are any of these parts over priced? I've been thinking about how much things are lately and how high demand for certain parts doubles their price. Is this the best time to buy this build with the final price in mind? Just want to know if this is around the right price for this level build. If I get the ok price/timing wise I will get these parts tonight or tomorrow.
  2. @Stahlmann98 If i did get the Corsair icue, would I still have to get the extra 2 fans along with the ones included? If so, I'll just go with the case you guys originally posted
  3. Also wondering if extra fans are necessary and if my case is bad or not
  4. For some reason, I thought the RX580 would preform better but if you say the 1660 is better then I'll have to change to this. The extra $30 shouldn't be a problem. I appreciate the input!
  5. I understand what youre getting at, and I considered the extras as well. But videos I've watched on both have basically steered me away from that and more towards 3300x. For the price, the performance you get out of it (gaming wise mainly) is a great deal. maybe down the line I may think about an upgrade but this is just to get my feet wet in this new gaming world. I gamed on a Dell Inspiron 15z before this lol
  6. Hello again everyone! Sorry for the late reply, I have been away for some time but I'm back so replies should be much more consistent. I have read all of the replies and based on what everyone has been recommending(and what is actually in stock) I have made a build and would like some feedback. PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3300X 3.8 GHz Quad-Core Processor ($120.00) Motherboard: ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($93.98 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory ($79.99 @ Newegg) Storage: TCSunBow X3 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($91.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: XFX Radeon RX 580 8 GB GTS XXX ED Video Card ($169.99 @ Amazon) Case: Corsair SPEC-06 ATX Mid Tower Case ($90.00) Power Supply: Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply ($111.03 @ Amazon) Total: $756.98 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-06-12 04:34 EDT-0400 As you can see, I've used the CPU, Motherboard, Storage, and Power Supply from the last build you and @boggy77 had posted. I forgot to add the fans but I'll post a new build after I ask a couple things I'm curious about. For one, is my case choice good for this build? I could easily switch to the case you guys recommended, I just find this one more aesthetically pleasing. If there is an issue(over heating, lack of space, etc) then I'll drop it. Also, the System Builder tells me there is an issue between the ASRock B450M PRO4 and the Ryzen 3 3300X...at least I think. Not sure what red and purple means but the both of you said nothing about this so should I be worried about this at all? Lastly, I was wondering if my GPU choice is right for this? I figure the games I want to run are pretty demanding. As for VR, not sure if these are considered high-end sets but the Oculus Rift S/ Quest are my options. Between a Linus video and your post, I decided to use the GPU and Memory from this build. The GPU is a better deal on paper than the previously posted Asus GeForce GTX 1660...is it? The Memory is also better than the Team T-Force Vulcan, so I appreciate the build post! This is an interesting build. The Ryzen is a bit fishy to me after the latest video Linus has posted on them. Seems like the Ryzen 3 3300x is the way to go. Also between your go to's for Motherboards and @lee32uk's disgust with the Asus, think Imma pass on that lol but then again I barely know what I'm talking about. If the build I posted above fails, I'll refer more to this one. Thanks for the help!
  7. Gottcha, not sure what a thermal take is but I'll choose another one! Would hate to run into issues diving into PC builds on my first go. Thanks again! I love your location by the way
  8. Hello all, Thanks for all the replies! Sorry I took so long to get back, I didn't think Id get help so soon. Again, I've never made a forum before so please bear with me here. PyroTheWise, I've never heard of a PC parts picker but this is interesting. I'll give that a look now. The frame rates I'm looking to hit are at the lowest 60-70 fps. My total budget for this build...I wanted to go for around $750, but it seems like that extra $50 makes a difference. I want something that will also last hopefully a few years without too many upgrades. So I'll do $800 USD for my first build. The country is USA. Ed-petit, this looks similar to my build! Certain parts I can't get anymore because apparently everyone is trying to build a PC as well. What do you play on it and how well does it run? Boggy77, THIS is why I'm here lol I would have never known that Ryzen 5 3600 and MSI B360M Bazooka weren't compatible. You've save a lot of time and money just now, I really appreciate it! Question, I noticed everyone has a different case on the builds posted, does this matter at all? I like the case I've picked out but if its too small or lacks certain openings for this build I'd like to know. Vinit6694skr, thank you as well for the heads up on the incompatibility. as far as the GPU and PSU recommendations, I know for a fact that the Corsair CX 550W is out of stock on amazon and newegg unless they've restocked. The GTX 1650 super is a nice kick in the teeth price wise, but if its what I'll need to run these games with no strain on the PC, it's definitely an option. Sub68, thank you for the heads up. Why would this be a bad option? I'd just like to know what to look for in the future. Stahlmann98, I appreciate all the builds posted! This gives me an easy way to pick out parts more suited for me. Actually you and Boggy77 possibly just built my CPU for me lol you two seem to have experience with the parts posted. I actually don't plan to upgrade anytime soon since $800 is really hefty for me price wise. Do you think this build could handle everything I plan to use it for with no problem? VR is the next step after the build and I'd like an almost seamless experience. Also, are the extra fans needed? Edit: The build I'm referring to is the last build you posted and Boggy77 agreed with. Nena360, I appreciate your reply but I'm a bit confused? What are you saying lol Edit 2: Just found out how to quote replies
  9. Hello all. I've never done anything like this before (creating a forum for help) so please excuse me if I've done something wrong. I'm not at all new to gaming but I am SURELY new to the world of PCs. I cant pick apart what makes one thing better than the other when it comes down to the extra techy parts.(Motherboards, CPU, GPU, Fans, etc.) I've used the video by Linus as a basic guide along with my own research 'The Perfect DIY Gaming PC - Early 2020 Buyer's Guide'. Unfortunately, we are still recovering from a pandemic, so most parts are either too pricey or just not available. I was hoping someone could give me advice on my current planned build before I blow all this money and something goes wrong, or I over spent, etc. To give an idea of what I'll be doing on this PC, I'll give a short list of games that I plan to play with it but beforehand, I also plan to produce music with this PC. That being said, here is the short list of games: Resident Evil 4 - HD Project Modded Resident Evil 2/3 Remake Skyrim Street Fighter 5 Call of Duty - Modern Warfare (Warzone) Shadow of the Tomb Raider Beat Saber VR Chat SuperHot VR Resident Evil 7 VR Tekken 7 Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice Theres many many more. Now that I think about it a good portion of them will be modded as well. Who plays vanilla Skyrim anymore? That aside, now that you have a basic idea of my needs, here is my build: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 570 MOBO: MSI B360M Bazooka RAM: 16GB DDR4-3600 dual channel kit PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GX2 600W SSD: Patriot Burst 960GB CASE: Corsair Carbide Spec-06 All together, that is about $750. Add shipping, and thats probably a bit over $800...as you might imagine...I kinda wanna know if this is the way to go before I commit. Some of these parts will most likely be sold out by the time you answer me as well, but its much better to possibly hear from you than to blow that much money and something is wrong. What do you think? Too pricey? Bad parts? Do I need more power? Any tips you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time!
