  1. It's an HP Pavilion Notebook Gaming Laptop
  2. So i just opened up my computer and I have an M.2 slot and the hard drive in there. I assume putting in a new hard drive and the M.2 at the same time I could install windows 10 on the drive I want to
  3. I'm currently on the laptop and yes I am on a microsoft account if I am not mistaken as I didn't have much of a choice when I set it up
  4. I was planning to fresh install because then I know that its a clean install of everything. Do you know a good video that goes over how to do this?
  5. Would I need to transfer the windows license to the drive and how would I go about installing Windows 10 on the drive. This is not something I have ever done or researched in great detail
  6. Good Afternoon, The past few months with nothing much to do I have been gaming a lot more on my 4 year old Laptop. Recently I have been getting many BSOD's while playing and after running some tests it appears that my hard drive is the cause. This isn't a big surprise to me as it was originally also my school computer and so I lugged it to school and back resulting in it getting jostled around more than it probably should have. Now I don't have the money for a new system and the one I have is powerful enough for most any game that I fancy. I would prefer to spend as little as I can within reason but am wondering if I bought myself and external SSD online is there a way to just transfer all my data and games over as well as windows so that I don't have to worry about the drive failing anymore, or do I need to pay someone to put in and internal SSD? Thanks in Advance Current System Specs: CPU: i7-6700HQ @2.60GHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M RAM: 16 GBs DDR4 Storage: 2 TB Hard Drive (Dying) Recovery Drive (I believe it to be fine but would want to put on an SSD with all my games for faster boots)
  7. Budget (including currency): CAD $1,300 Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Heavy Gaming, mainly Star Citizen Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Currently gaming on a laptop that BSOD every couple of days and looking to upgrade so that i can run SC with minimal lag, currently maxing at 20, but its more like a slideshow. I don't want to be spending alot and trying to do it on a budget, any help is appreciated for finding parts and getting good deals.
