  1. They’re roughly the same price so I figured they’re pretty similar. Also I understand! No worries. I appreciate the help.
  2. That’s fair. Do you think this is a good psu? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/evga-gp-series-supernova-1000w-atx-80-plus-gold-fully-modular-power-supply-black/6209800.p?skuId=6209800 I was also looking at https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-rmx-series-1000w-atx12v-2-4-eps12v-2-92-80-plus-gold-modular-power-supply-black/6073500.p?skuId=6073500 but its not in stock and I’d prefer to get it on Best Buy.
  3. I was planing on replacing it down the line originally. But they did advertise on Nvidias site that the min req for a 3090 is 750w. Kinda misleading if it cant support it.
  4. Phanteks p400s with a p500a front panel for airflow.
  5. Corsair CX Series 750 Watt 80+ Bronze Certified Modular Power Supply https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ALK3KEM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_UEK1Fb9Y3XRRN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 its gray. This is the exact one.
  6. Im not really sure how to go about lowering it. I live in Hawaii so it’s always a bit hot which kinda brings my temps up as it is. What do you suggest? I can try mounting my AIO on the top maybe, if theres room in the case. But other than that idk what to do
  7. Hi, I’ve been having an issue lately with my pc. I think it has to do with intensive games. So, my computer shuts off, straight to black screen with no BSOD. It usually happens when I’m playing intensive games. All my parts are pretty normal on temps with the exception of maybe my ram at 52c while playing Cyberpunk. Once it cuts to black it I need to flip the power supply switch to be able to turn it back on. I recently got a 3090 and its been running fine so far but it just recently started doing this. It’s crashed on Cyberpunk, Phasmaphobia, Rainbow 6, and The Forest. I capped my frames from 72 to 62 on Cyberpunk and it hasnt crashed since but I also turned off XMP so that might be why. is this a power supply issue or something else? I figured from what I’ve been reading online that this is most likely a PSU issue. My only other suspect is the motherboard perhaps. I did a mem test on the ram and it came out fine. Motherboard: Asus z370-e PSU: Corsair CX Series 750 Watt bronze (its almost 3 years old) GPU: Nvidia rtx 3090 FE
  8. I think I got a solution but it's kind of dumb. I tried moving my graphics card to my pci e x8 from the x16 (i also swapped the ram cards from b d to a c because swapping the ram has helped with other non-frame issues before and it couldnt hurt) and it has immensely helped. my cinebench scores are the same but my heaven and FFXV benchmarks came back great! Whats weird is this motherboard is the one they sent me back after an issue with the first one (freezing) so it's not old or anything. I remember trying both pci e slots on the old motherboard and they were similar, but the x8 had more reliable frames. Perhaps this Asus motherboard commonly has pci e x16 issues? I don't know but I'll keep testing and thank you for the help. I'll keep the SSD in mind too. I should look to get a better one eventually.
  9. Well, I did a fresh reinstall of windows and didnt get better results really. But I did take notice to this. Is it possible that this SSD is really holding me back? I didnt think it would be that since its a drive and my games are on my other drive but maybe such a bad ssd is starting to wear on my PC? What do you guys think?
  10. My temps are never really that bad so I dont think its airflow. I'm probably gonna try a fresh install pretty soon after I find my portable hard drive. I thought about my GPU maybe having dust but I'm not sure how to go about cleaning it properly, plus it doesn't get super hot so I don't know if it's that.
  11. Hi, I tried this out in safe mode like it said was best and I got better results on cinebench and userbenchmark but the Heaven and FFXV benchmarks went poorly in comparison. What do you think about this?
  12. Hi, I've been having a lot of issue and seek insight at this point on what it could be. My Specs: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz, 3696 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) Motherboard: ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 ti SC2 RAM: 32GB 3000mhz I've been struggling to run games in general but the most glaring issue I have is when I play VRchat. My friends with worse gpus have no problem with frames in many worlds while i'm lucky if I pull 45 fps in VR. In certain worlds I'm lucky to pull 22 fps. I used to have no problem with FPS in VRchat or any other game. But now with FFXV I've noticed how pervasive this issue is. I even have times where I drop below 60 fps on league. Uncapping my framerate seemed to help. But I can no longer run Minecraft with shaders on without massive framedrops. I have had this computer since 2018, so it is older and some of my stuff is still under warranty but I have no idea what I'd even call a warranty on because I don't know which piece of hardware (or software) is causing this. I've considered hard resetting my PC but I wanted some insight before I do. I'll post some newer bench scores I've done to maybe help pin-down the issue. The 3305 on Heaven is my most recent bench compared to the 3712 in December 2018 All my drivers and bios are up-to-date and i've run diagnostics on my CPU with the Intel diagnostic tool and everything comes back normal. Thank you and any help is appreciated!
