  1. Thanks for your reply I have just attached the AIO's header to the CPU_FAN header. Just to check any differences, I ran AIDA64 stress test with the AIO connected to the AIO_PUMP header, and then repeated with the AIO connected to the CPU_FAN header. In the BIOS & Hardwareinfo, I could see that the fans of the AIO were running at 1602rpm constant When connected to the CPU_FAN header, and choosing PWM, I could see they were now running at around 1100rpm. Temps have increased by about 5 degrees Celsius. CPU idle was about 46 Celsius, now about 52. After 5 minutes AIDA64 stress test, CPU maxed at about 72 Celsius, and with PWM on CPU_FAN maxed at about 80. Should I worry about now having a slightly warmer CPU, or is that OK? Thanks
  2. With the Arctic Liquid Freezer II, there is only ONE connection available. The unit comes preinstalled, and all you do is fix the radiator to the case, and the only cable connection is coming out of the pump. It's a different design to other AIOs, where the cables to the fans are hidden under the sheath of the tubing that is connected to the radiator.
  3. Hi everyone I have just completed a new build after a 15 year hiatus from Windows, where I was exclusively using Mac. I would appreciate some advice regarding setting up the fan curve on the Arctic freezer AIO? It is connected to the AIO header on the motherboard, but I am not sure what settings to choose in BIOS, and where to start? Build spec: Ryzen 3950X Asus X570 TUF Gaming Plus WiFi Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz 16GBx2 MSI RTX 2070 Super I contacted Arctic for advice, and they advised to connect the AIO to the CPU fan header, rather than the AIO header, suggesting that on some motherboards the voltage might be high on the AIO header and damage the AIO? Many thanks
  4. its all sorted. instead of adding my windows activation key, just chose I DO NOT HAVE A KEY, and tried there. And windows installed normally? Very starnge
  5. I reinstalled a few times, same problem. Cleared CMOS. All components are off the shelf new? I have not tried using an old GPU, or doing that WiFi driver trick? How can I know if a component is bad? All parts were bought from different vendors? It will be a nightmare to return parts?
  6. Just retried with ONE ram stick, and tried both, each one on its own, and no difference? The motherboard has FOUR LED debugging lights. NONE of them stay on after reboot, which suggests all HARDWARE is OK, so must be a software/driver issue? Not sure? Please help a lifelong Mac user from losing faith, very quickly...!!
  7. HI everyone This is my very first post here Have been following LTT on youtube for ages, but was always a Mac user. So, I have finished a NEW build for the kids, as they need Windows for their school work, and I also am into Astrophotography and use software that is heavily core and GPU dependant. Anyways, here's the build: Asus TUF Gaming (Wi-Fi) X570-PLUS Ryzen 3950X: Power provided by 8 pin PCI-E ONLY, 4 pin not used Arctic Liquid Freezer II: connected to AIO_PUMP. CPU_FAN & CPU_OPT left unpopulated Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3200, CL16 2x16GB: Installed in A2 & B2 as manual suggests MSI Ventus RTX2070 Plus: Power provided by 8 pin & 6 pin PCI-E XPG ADATA SX8200 Pro 1TB NVME: using M.2_1 socket, just above the GPU Seasonic Focus PX850 Platinum 80+ PSU On first install, using Microsoft Media creation tool to a USB flash, AFTER installation finsihed I got a BSOD, and ever since I am stuck in a constant loop of restarts, seeing the Asus TUF logo, andd the receiving a message: The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed....etc.. I found three threads on the internet to fix this: 1- Disable LAN, WiFI & Bluetooth in BIOS: DId that, same problem. 2- Install WiFi drivers during partitioning, which I do not understand? 3- Replace RTX2070 Super with an older card. That is not an option, as this is my first WIndows build. I have not updated BIOS, as I do not know how to do that, but from the threads I read, updating BIOS does not seem to help? My version is: 1405, 19/11/2019 UPDATED TO 1407, THE LATEST BIOS ON ASUS WEBSITE Please help me fix this? I have disabled everything on the board, SATA, etc, nothing helped?
