  1. Ok yeah pretty much the same thing I heard on other boards. guess I'll scrap the idea and just rebuild what I have. Thank you.
  2. Budget (including currency): $1200 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA Games, VR, AI Assistant, G.T.W., whatever Other details: Just trying to figure out the best board for current and future upgrades. I know AMD is trying to keep it's chip-sets somewhat backwards compatible but your board still needs to be able to handle the load. Waffling between TRX40s and the x570s, not sure which one will be best to plan a long term build around(Leaning toward MSI Creator - runs at lowest temp with just processor). The budget is strictly for the board. I want to build it over the next year and a half, this is not an over night need it now. I've always wanted a high-end PC but never had the budget to splurge and I don't need more credit. Just want to save up and build a beast which can handle games easily for over a decade after I build it. Given that so many developers are currently playing catch-up with what new processors can do this seems like an opportune time to start such a build. Most of the YouTube videos and help forums seem to treat boards as disposable so I guess I'm really asking if my logic around this build is viable. Should I start with the board or just save up for a high end processor and then build around that? Get a 24-core Ryzen Threadripper on sale sometime and make due for a few year till the 64-cores drop in price? Will they still be around? I've gone down the rabbit hole ladies and gentlemen, two weeks of sleepless nights pouring over articles and forums, through videos and spec charts...I feel less enlightened than when I started. Maybe I should have made this post in the therapy section?
