  1. So I think I've finally determined the issue.. Being the PUMA 6 chipset that my isp exclusively uses. the known issue it has basically ticks off all the issues I've been experiencing. does anyone have any good "patches" or workarounds to improve any latency/timeout issues.
  2. Bumping and Also adding what I've tried so far. 1) Disabling DHCP on the gateway and leaving it enabled on the router.. (This is what I want to do as i believe it should be the most optimized scenario) - Result. Was not able to get connected to the internet at all. the network worked and all the devices connected and ran between 1-2ms latency (usually 1ms) on the LAN connection.. Unsure why I was unable to get the internet to work.. 2) Disabling all the functionality of the routers and used them as access points only.. - Result. Feels kind of a shame to do this, but it works. To me this feels like stuffing salt into a wound and covering it with a bandaid.. the problem is, that my original underline problem still arises.. Although it's much much better. I used to randomly time out in games and would not be able to reconnect to the server at all... even though I could still use the internet to connect to other web pages. now I'll just get studders in the network where it will periodically spike to "999" then come back. web browsing has been completely unaffected by these spikes. I was waiting for a spike in the connection and Immediately ran a speed test while I was spiking with no issues (from the same machine) Questions: 1.So should I just be okay on using these routers as access points and accept the fact I probably spent way more $$ then i needed too? Or should I try to figure out why turning DHCP off the gateway brakes the internet? 2. Will turning off the DHCP on the gateway and allowing the routers to handle all the traffic benefit latency at all? Or am i just chasing ghosts?
  3. Hey all, So I was trying to create a “Mesh” network in our household. I’m somewhat tech savvy, but hold very little knowledge in networking.. What I tried last weekend was connecting a router into our gateway (in slot 1 as it’s the only WAN slot) and it worked for a couple hours until the network crashed. I believe it crashed because I didn’t disable the gateways functionality and it was giving each device its own unique code as well as the routers doing the same thing. What we currently have: Gateway: CODA-4589 (TV/phone/internet/Wi-Fi all in 1) Router: ASUS AX6100 (x2) The modem keeps consistently timing out during games on a hourly basis... I believe this is because we have almost 50 devices hooked up to the Wi-Fi including smart tv’s smart plugs, google home, phones, pcs, ect… I also went with Wi-Fi 6 to future proof ourselves and we currently have a true 1000 mpbs connection that I want to utilize as much as I can without being hard wired in (not possible where it's set up). Currently I tend to drop to around 100mpbs or less with ping fluctuation from 3-120 on LAN and an even bigger fluctuations while connected to servers. the ping is just never stable. can someone help point me in the right direction? thanks!
