  1. Looks pretty impressive with that clock. Guess I will tinker with this then. Thanks for all the help guys.
  2. Thanks for the tip. I think I'll bump it up a bit. Just to assure myself, these load temps look completely normal? I just don't want to end up giving in to purchasing another cooler.
  3. What will turning them up do? Increase the clock speed?
  4. @Electronics WizardyI took a 15 minute stress test on prime 95. So it's safe to turn these variables up to 30 with my temps and 475w psu?
  5. I'm sorry, I thought that launching a game puts the cpu on load. Do you mean I should stress test my pc? Idle as in no programs, nothing running. I am upgrading from an i7. I am unfamiliar with c states and I do not know power consumption. Where can I find them?
  6. I can overclock at these temps? Could you tell me what is happening to core #1? Also my bios are locked but if it's possible on Intel extreme tuning than I would show some interest.
  7. Hi guys! I had recently upgraded my computer, installing a new CPU, GPU and heatsink. I have never installed computer parts before so I wanted to check if everything was identified by the computer. After checking the GPU, I installed HWMonitor to see if I did a fine job applying the paste and topping it with the heatsink. I'm pretty worried because after doing some research online I think my computer should not be idling at 40-50c. The other thing that worries me is that the hottest core is usually about 10c+ hotter than every other core. I have not overclocked, I have reapplied thermal paste and remounted, and I bought it from Ebay. My question is if this is just the standard Nehalem Xeon Processor temps or if my cpu cooler (Intel xts100h) is not gonna cut it. Thank you for your time.
