  1. Well is there any way I can make it compatible with those games?
  2. When I play some older games, the games will stutter a lot. Even if I have it in borderless fullscreen and the fps capped it still does it. Examples are: surgeon simulator (the old one), portal 1, and other similar games. When I turn off freesync on my monitor or in amd settings the stuttering stops. Any help would be appreciated. Note: some games will stutter a lot if I don't have them in borderless fullscreen such as cs:go. Just thought that would be a good thing to mention. Parts: Ryzen 5 3600 rx 590 wd 2012 1tb Asus tuf b450-plus gaming corsair rm650x Monitor: Viewsonic 27inch 1080p 144hz 1ms response time
  3. Yeah I've completely shut down and unplugged the computer multiple times and they still don't work. something to note is that when I plug my headset into a usb, it lights up, so it's delivering power, which is why I think windows is like ignoring the usbs or something? The mic doesn't work even though it lights up though.
  4. I was on my computer yesterday, but I was going to a friends house. I shut down my computer, but accidentally pressed sleep instead of shutdown, however it still shut down so I thought it was all good. I came back this morning and turned it on. Only two usbs on my whole computer work, including chassis usbs. It's originally it was only one that wouldn't work on the bottom of the io, but then I realized the top two of the io weren't working either. Only the two bottom usbs work on the motherboard. I tried moving around the ports where everything was in and then one of the ones at the bottom stopped working when I put my wifi dongle in it, then I took it out and plugged my mouse in, then that didn't work either. Here's the part that broke my brain. I just unplugged the mouse and plugged it back in and that port works again, even with the wifi dongle in it as well. I currently have my wifi dongle plugged into one port, and my monitor's usb hub in the other with my keyboard and mouse plugged into those. Other than the ports not working, the computer works perfectly fine. Then I got a warning from amd drivers saying the system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requeted resolution and refresh rate. Your display might not support the requested resolution or there may be an issue with the cable connecting the display to your computer. Even though I got this message, it is still running the monitor in 1080p with 144hz so I'm not sure why I got this message. Something similar to this happened once while I was using my oculus on the computer but I fixed it by just restarting the pc and all of the usbs worked. The only thing I can possibly think could've done something is the windows update I installed a few days ago. Please help, I have no idea whats happening. Specs: MOBO: asus tuf b450-plus gaming (just got this board) PSU: corsair rm650x (also very new) gpu: powercolor rx 590 cpu: ryzen 5 3600 (new as well) hdd: wd blue 1tb ram: 2x8 g.skill ripjaws 3600mhz edit: I think windows might be blocking the ports or something. I can plug in my headset and it will light up so it's getting power, but it won't work at all. also, in device manager all of my usbs are there but one of them AMD USB 3.10 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.10 has a yellow triangle on it and it says windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. I really think whatever this means is the problem. SOLVED: idk who im updating this to because only one person responded but I disabled and reenabled the usb host controller and everything works now.
  5. Probably wasn't broken lol, but it was helpful knowing it wasn't the cpu. Now I just have to hope it keeps working and doesn't stop after 2 days again.
  6. Hey guys, an update from a couple months later haha. I sent the board back to asus and they gave me one for free. THE COMPUTER WORKS! It's still running a little toasty, but I'm gonna get another fan and try to make temps lower. Thanks for all of the help.
  7. Can't rma it, i've had the board for a while. I figured that I would have to get a new motherboard. I'll try contacting support and see if they can do anthing. Thanks for the help.
  8. Alright, its been a while but ive finally done it. It wouldnt let me update it to the original bios, it only let me go down to version 1201. Tried the cpu and no dice. Sorry its been a while, i've been doing stuff on my pc so i didnt get around to it until now.
  9. I'm going to do it in the morning. I tried flashing it from version 2008 to 2006, but maybe since it isnt that big of a difference, it didnt have to write over corrupted files. I see how updating it to the first version would help, as it would write over every file. I will definitely try it. If this doesnt work unless you have any other ideas, it might be time for me to order a new mobo, or at least wait for b550 to see if prices drop or anything.
  10. Alright I'm working on it. As far as I can tell there is no way to auto set it back to the original update so I'm going to have to download the original bios update.
  11. Yep. The gpu works with the old cpu in. At this point I'm wondering if the mobo failed in some way that makes it impossible to work with any 3000 series processors. I dont know if that's possible, but it's my only idea.
  12. Alright guys, I'm not sure how this works or if any of you guys are going to see this. Alright update from a week later. I got a replacement cpu and that one doesnt work either. I tried downgrading the bios by one update and still nothing. Something is causing my cpu and my motherboard not to be compatible even though it worked for 2 days. Normally there is always one more thing I can try. In this case im stumped. Please help, I have no idea what to do.
  13. To be honest man that is a really beefy pc. I don't think that you'll have any problems doing anything on the pc that you've described that you want to do.If you do want to overclock, just make sure you have good temps on everything beforehand.
  14. Hopefully! Thanks for all of the help man. It seems like it's just going to have to be a trial and error thing by putting in the new one once I get it.
  15. Yeah. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't a clear reason why it broke so that I could avoid it breaking again.
