  1. But as bomb mentioned I also think there may be something else happening here. Used the pre applied thermal compound that was on the 1600's wraith cooler, havnt taken the cooler off so it should still be making good contact. ALSO my bad my memory is a kingson SSD NOW v300 240gb, I also have a 1tb seagate barracuda from 2018 but my OS or games I play are all on the SSD, eventually hoping to upgrade to a 970 evo m2 ssd. Here is the main monitor I am using. It is a 24 inch viewsonic with 60hz refresh rate https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06XYRWB8J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 monitoring my task manager cpu/gpu usage the cpu goes up to 35% usage at its high points and my gpu goes to 25% at the highest. I also should mention that when initially installing my processor I BENT PINS. Yes I know that is awful but I bent them back and re-seated it. It was at least 3 of the pins, it was bad..had issues seating the cpu initially and applied the stress bar too soon, however it did go in fine after I used tweezers to bend them back and I havnt noticed any critical errors related to CPU in my event viewer, ever; but I am wondering if it starting to rear its ugly head) I havnt noticed it to be thermal throttling in Msi afterburner sits at 43-45 idle and around 55-60 under load
  2. I am quite interested in the 3rd gen Ryzens particially the 3700/3800x, but like Callum mentioned I would need to upgrade my mobo to support the gen 3. I do hope eventually build this into a decent little mid-high range gaming pc so I would probably break my budget for a nice Asus ROG mobo if I had to go that route, maybe get a good price as a combo on a tech sale
  3. https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/28358985 this is a benchmark I recently ran after switching my dram settings and it has slightly improved my frames, but still hovering around the 30 fps mark and really disappointed with it
  4. Sorry for my lack of description. Ill try to answer everyone as precisely as I can, and thank you very much for the replies and help! @bombastinator 16gb sorry, I can;t believe I left that out. I recently just went into my bios and made sure my dram settings were what the kit says from the amazon description, I will link a few pictures with the settings I put into the bios. Also I have them on a1 b1 channel as per my motherboard manual says they should be duel channeling properly. Also here is the specific kit i bought. https://www.amazon.ca/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0134EW7G8 @callum duncan my motherboard bios version has never been updated, I was always nervous about updating it as I heard it could mess things up pretty bad.

Budget (including currency): 500$ CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: World of Warcraft Other details Hardware specs MOBO: Asus prime b350 plus CPU: ryzen 5 1600 GPU: EVGA 2060 super XC gaming (recently upgraded because I thought my old card was holding me back) RAM: corsair vengance LPX @ 3000mhz Hello Linus Tech Tips Forums! I am slightly new to understanding computer specs and have been watching lots of videos to do my best in furthering my knowledge of them, nevertheless I have been told to upgrade my processor more than once and am wondering if that is something that could be holding me back to do the best I can in games. Please forgive my less tech savvy self if I leave anything out Currently I raid mythic in World of Warcraft am on the last boss of the expansion. I play fire mage and can drop below 20 frames occassionaly as my peaks go up to ~40 and have that vally of below 20. For those of you perhaps looking to help me that don't play the game the encounter I am talking about can bring a hefty workload to even high end enthusiast pcs, from some reasearch I did I found that the top teir players even have recordings of them dropping to ~30 fps in the encounter. So possibly just a awfully optimized encounter in game or I am experiencing some kind of bottleneck(which people keep telling me but I am not sure if I beleive it) I play on the very lowest settings in that situation and have DirectX 12 selected in game. I want to try and not drop below 30 fps EVER while being even on 1 settings, functionality in game is VERY important for me Again if there is anything I left out please let me know and I will do my best to get it posted ASAP, thanks for the help and have a wonderful day. Alex
