  1. On AMD's website, it says the Ryzen 7 3700X has a 65W TDP and the Ryzen 7 3800X has a 105W TDP, even though they are both unlocked and overclockable?
  2. My RTX 2060 is only a couple days old and I just noticed that it has an issue with the fans. So when I am playing a game, I can constantly hear the GPU fans rev at random times really loudly. On the MSI Afterburner display monitor, I can see the fan speeds fluctuate to 100% for like one second and then go back down to the normal fan curve at random times, making a loud noise that sounds like wind. Upon googling this issue I can see that many people have it with the RTX cards and many just ended up returning the card. Setting a custom fan curve in MSI Afterburner doesn't fix the problem. I think I have a faulty fan controller chip on my card causing the fans to rev randomly during gameplay, should I return my card and request a replacement? Or is it fine to keep using since I don't want to bother with the extremely long shipping times? I am an unlucky person and I keep getting defective computer hardware, buying computer hardware online is basically a 50/50 chance for me to not get a defective item (Amazon).
  3. I bought a Noctua CPU cooler but it is one of the flat ones with the fan being parallel to the CPU. The manual says I can install it in two orientations, which one is better?
  4. I am planning on upgrading my CPU cooler and apparently I have to clean off the old thermal paste and apply the new thermal paste when I install my new cooler. How do I clean thermal paste? Are alcohol pads fine?
  5. Planning to upgrade my stock cooler since my processor keeps overheating. I have zero clue when it comes to building computers so I am currently doing research, I just don't know how to uninstall my stock cooler.
  6. My PC is a prebuilt from 4 years ago and it came with the Intel stock cooler. I was talking with a friend about CPUs and once I informed him of my CPU temperatures, he told me it was overheating. I never knew it was overheating and never did research for CPU temperatures so basically I was ignorant at the fact that my CPU was overheating all the time. I have been gaming for 4 years almost every day with the CPU at 70-80C in heavy AAA game titles (RDR2 pushes my CPU to the max at 85C). Once I realized these temperatures were not good (4 years later lol), I tried manually adjusting the fan curve in BIOS but it didn't do much. I think I need a new CPU cooler because the Intel stock cooler is so trash. The problem is I am a complete noob when it comes to building computers (never built one) and I don't know which cooler is good for my LGA1151 Core i7-6700 @3.4GHz (non-k). Neither do I know how to install one. Which cooler would be decent for my CPU? How would I uninstall my stock cooler and how would I install the new one? I have a mini-ATX motherboard. Please give me all the information I need because I am a beginner and I don't want to mess up and break stuff. Also I am worried about having a bulky cooler weighing down my small motherboard and bending it.
  7. Got a new RTX 2060 and judging from NVIDIA's website it comes with DX12 Ultimate. But I searched dxdiag in the start menu and the DirectX version only says DirectX 12. How do I know if my new card has the Ultimate version?
  8. Just purchased a new RTX 2060 from MSI. Launched GPU-z and saw that it had a TU104 die when it's supposed to be TU106 and the release date of the card was August 2018 when the newer models are from early 2019. Lookie here, is this card old? Shall I return it and get another one?
  9. Ah thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. Great explanation!
  10. For example in one game, my GPU usage is always above 90% and CPU usage is always above 60%, is that bottlenecked?
  11. I have MSI Afterburner on and currently monitoring my CPU/GPU usage and RAM usage. I want to see if there is a bottleneck in my system but I don't really know how to analyze the usages. An explanation to usages would be helpful, thanks!
  12. I could be wrong but it seems like whenever I want to uninstall my GPU the unlock switch on right side of the PCIe 3.0 slot seems really loose and I don't even need to use pressure in order to unlock the switch. But when I replace the GPU there is actually a click sound of the switch locking. So I don't know if it's actually loose or not.
  13. This was from the AMD driver website, is this the problem? I don't want to think that bottleneck is the problem because many people on here and other forums told me to get the RX 5600XT for my CPU. And I have seen benchmarking videos with bottlenecked system configurations and there is no stutter. I don't want to believe that my CPU is the problem.
  14. I just discovered something new. Just with google chrome open and nothing else, my CPU runs at its maximum frequency all the time in task manager, not sure why. Maybe this is the problem?
  15. So I gotta play a graphics setting game now.... lol. What if I don't want to deal with this anymore and just buy another GPU that lessens the bottleneck?
